album is fire man. he got one.
Jim proved himself on here. bars up and the beat selection damn near flawless.
you can tell Jim's ear still works nicely. every guest fits the song they appear on.
Ross just fit like a glove onto State of The Union. bodied it. Fab, Jada, Curren$y all their consistent selves.
like a right of passage that if you have a song with New York in the title, Fat Joe has to be on it.
Cam sounds his best in a while on Pity In The Summer. i don't know why they threw him on that song with the Griselda boys though. it sounded like they just had something laying around from Cam in the stash that they just put in for the sake of it after Benny's verse. shyt sounded like he was doing spoken word and he only does maybe like 8 or 10 bars.
speaking of them.....Benny and Conway sound phenomenal over Heatmakerz.
especially Conway. it felt good to hear a little injection of pace in his delivery.
Pity In The Summer is my early favorite.
its just gave me that good feeling hearing it loud. white singer guy did his thing on that song.
Jim's gave the people what they want from a rapper from the city in their age group. him and Styles P are playing to their strengths in their vet years. his last album was received well but i think he'll get more acclaim this time around and word will spread about the album for people that may not have been interested in a while.
he said he just kept hearing people on the songs as he was making them.
plus he said every rapper on the album is a spitter and this album was him showing he could show and prove with them all.
