How, so? His appeal? The direction?

The atmosphere and cast of the show. I was never a big fan of Math as an interviewer, but he is certainly the type of guy you can shoot the shyt with. More importantly he surrounded himself with a diverse cast of characters who could ask the questions he wouldn't think to ask. You had a former Source journalist/backpack rap guy who could hit guests with smart questions. You had a 90s/00s rap industry guy there to ask about business. You had various guys there for antics or random shyt (think about how Dallas Penn always livened up Combat Jack episodes). And the barbershop setting really brought it all together. We've all been in a shop while someone tells a long, compelling story. So hearing a guest go on for 5+ minutes, virtually uninterrupted, holding court....you don't see that type of shyt from these other shows. And it worked perfectly here.

So even if Math missed the plot or didn't "get" something, someone would be there to keep shyt moving. One reason I hate Drink Champs is because it's clear Nore does not LISTEN, he simply waits his turn to speak. So you get a lot of repetitive questions or moments. That was never an issue once Math's show really hit its stride IMO.
