He's absolutely right. Frats have their own colors, gang (frat) hand signs and their own secret handshakes just like gangs do. They're essentially the more buttoned up corporate version of gangs.

I'm not sure if an average of one death per year is comparable to gangs or that it has become normalized.
Gang violence has absolutely become normalized.
Jim Jones making this comparison has less to do with bringing awareness to death in frat hazing and more to do with downplaying gang violence.

It's more than just one. And it's more than just college. It's high school, it's sports, it the military, even in the workforce.
No one cares though. You aren't going to shut down the army or marines or the Navy, no school or college is going to shut down, no team is going to cancel a season or be sanctioned. One person's death isn't enough to punish everyone else.
That's part of the reason America has the culture it has now and there so much sexual abuse and substance abuse within our jobs, sports, entertainment, church's, schools. But addressing that is woke.

That being said. A gang isnt anything more than a group of people, it's not a legitimate organization with structure. OG Craig is at the top and Big Tony is under him, then you got Peanut, and blah blah blah. We have legal gangs and terrorist organizations with ceos, boards of directors, mfs that signed contracts, people in office, people that design curriculums and implement legislation. If it makes anyone feel better getting killed by them, then that's fine. 2 sides of the same coin if you ask me.
