How many times do we have to hear this story over and over until rappers starting reading their contracts. It's embarrassing and inexcusable
They think short term not long term. Quick fast money over sustained. Most people have that mentality to take care of and worry about the now versus the later. The smart ones do the opposite

Spend copious amounts of money on jewelry and designer clothes and kicks (apparently) at 50 years old with no real perpetuity plan to continue earning after being a gangsta rap artist brehs. Jim seems like one of them guys who spends more than he makes, lol, I'm sure I'm incorrect but it seems that way to me, he be shining but what streams/units is he pushing anywhere on earth? He must stay doing shows around the tri-state. Slime gon fukk around and get audited, lol.

I blame the messageboard crowd for making Jim Jones and Dipset brand of New York fell off rap popular in the first place. We shouldn't be here.

He touched on this in the Cam Capone interview, he thought signing to an independent label meant he got to keep his masters.

Most ppl do. It’s not just rappers or ppl inthe entertainment industry. Most of our friends, family, and associates have the same mentality.

Yall gotta be so negative smh. He admitted that he was foolishly not reading the contracts and not focused on his business like that which led him to signing his masters away. Now he’s attempting to see if he can get them back. I hope he can. I know yall don’t like breh but damn

Nerd ass take :laff:

Man real shyt if you are under age 35 yall can’t speak on early 00s anything. You were not old enough to have experienced it and it always reveals itself. The new wave is yall keep minimizing whole eras into niche fan base groups. Tf is a ‘Message board crowd’. That’s like when people said ‘Internet fans’. Like these aren’t actual real life people

Dipset was on FIRE. They had nggas around the globe fw it and emulating. Tf does Jim being bad in business have to do with THAT. If you try to revisionist history that movement you are either white, young, or you was just a nerd back then. No other way around it

That probably why he mad with Cam.. knowing he kinda fukked himself with that.

BUT... who is buying Jim Jones catalog?

Honestly "Ballin" is the only song that would garner interest..

And damn.. thinking of it.. he ain't see none of the residuals from that song..
Fruit Roll Ups might inquire about "Bend & Stretch"
