I think Rome might be onto something. I do get some Parcells vibes from Harbaugh. Great coach but wears out his welcome quick and has to move on. Although I think Michigan will be more tolerant of him than most NFL jobs would... provided he can beat Ohio State consistently

I've always wanted to find an excuse to be able to use one of those Buckeye smilies. This is a historic moment in my posting career :mjcry:

The truth is coaches dont need to expose students for their transgressions unless its public record. He made that clear with his first TWO responses to the questions in that press conference.
I agree.
Reporters are going to push the issue tho its their job to try to get him to crack and open up why cause that's what people want to know, why did they get suspended. Is it beating a dead horse, possibly, but you gotta beat it.
And everything else he said was true.

But when has that ever happened to harbaugh?

  • He is and always was beloved in A2
  • Neither the Bears nor the Colts cited an attitude problem
  • He was respected at UCSD and left for a better opportunity
  • He wasnt CLOSE to squeezed out at stanford, he left for NFL opportunity
  • It is evident the 49ers were straight idiots in their situation with the players floored that harbaugh was leaving the team...

so, where is this coming from??? Oh the media who he doesnt bow down to :lolbaugh:

I mean, Parcells was in NYG as a head coach 7 years before he started getting the reputation as a guy who was always looking for a quick exit. He wasn't always that way. I don't think Harbaugh was like that early in his career, but the longer into it he gets the more hard to deal with he seems to be. Just from the outside looking in.

SF situation is very Parcells-esque, yes all the players loved Harbaugh, but when have you ever heard a player say a bad word about Parcells? They worship him. His problem was always with management. They are control freaks and I think that plays better in college than the NFL, so the boosters and everyone can overlook him being an a$$hole as long as he beats Ohio State and Michigan State.

He even trolled Michigan when he was coaching Stanford saying that the "academic standards" that Michigan claims to have in regards to recruiting athletes was all a farse...

I've said it before, Harbaugh is a fukking nut job but he is NO dummy. I respect him.
