Another problem is the feel of the show. They don't focus on Wrestling as no longer as a 'sport" but more of a entertainment spectacle instead. With that way of booking, The belts are devalued and contender ship isn't takened seriously either. I would like to also add thats its slowly killing the mystique behind the product Like People shouldn't be able to actually predict a Cena win or predict a future Brock win because "it makes sense". Todays market is booked it to where its either you in the "main event picture gunning for the world title" or you're gonna flounder throughout the mid-card or fade into oblivion. Theres no serious importance behind the IC or US titles anymore. Those belts use to be Cataylist to building stars, But not anymore. They had that IC title shyt defended last year at a pre show before Wrestle-mania for god sake.
The logical thing would be to have Mark Henry win the IC strap and book him as a VERY strong dominant champ just like TNA is booking Lashley. The IC belt use to be able to develop new talent and groom them for the next level. But over the years they flip flopped it along with the world title. This where I felt it was a BIG mistake in axing the Cruiser-weight division when that belt should have equal importance as the Heavy weight and IC title. I'd probably ax that US title because it serves no purpose

Thats the main problem. You can have all the talent in the world but if you don't have good direction management, Its a waste.
This has slowly been exposing within itself since 2004 fam, The creative team has ALWAYS been this way. Its just so happen that they had enough million dollar talent for us to overlook the obvious flaws. That whole 2004-2005 roster was STACKED. But over time as wrestlers left, wrestlers retired, wrestlers at times died, You start to really see how incompetent this writing team truly is when it comes to developing new talent. Cokeboy has no more territories to raid and already polished talent to steal from and its showing.

Steve was also the type that wasn't afraid to let Vince know about the direction of his character either. Same thing as HBK, Rock, HHH, Taker and many others during that period. They weren't afraid of going to Vince and WCW also put pressure on him to listen to his actual talent in terms of character direction. He had in the back of his mind "I have to either listen to these guys or risk losing them to WCW or ECW"
