The best part is Linehan getting the :camby:

Lions had the best draft last season, and if bush didn't sign here they'd have 4 wins.

I don't think it was a coincidence that this was also the first year Brian Xanders was in the fold.

I haven't been the biggest Mayhew fan and I think he's been awful in drafts until this past one. With that said, Schwartz was clearly the biggest problem with the team and they do have enough to be in the playoffs right now, so I'm not gonna be up in arms about Mayhew sticking around.

Side note: I liked the tone of Lewand and Mayhew at the Schwartz presser.

I'm tired of all of these retreads, I want new blood. Give me optimism. I don't really want to know what we are going to get from these mufukkas on the coaching carousel.

Yimmy WAS new blood, and they hired 2 former head coaches as coordinators. Retreads of the 90s are diff than retreads of the 2000s in the sense they aren't retreads yet. Guys like Lovie and Weisenhunt have only had one position. Its different than a 90s retread such as Marty Schotenheimer.

And For the love of God can Detroit radio stop talking about Bill Cowher.

Dave Birkett thinks Whisenhunt and David Shaw would be the best choices for the team. They definitely need someone with winning experience to come in and they basically said as much in the presser. They want to win NOW.

Gruden the analyst and Gruden the coach are not one in the same. Those are completely different job descriptions and expectations. Besides, you're talking about a guy that almost won a superbowl with Rich Gannon, and won one with Brad Johnson.
I was joking breh...

if we're talking about serious, gruden is known for making seasoned vets play into west coast offense philosophy (gannon, johnson, garcia) but hasnt really developed or helped a young qb. wco and the lions dont seem to mix to me but what do I know ? :manny:

This season was the 2nd time the collapsed in the second half of the season.
'11 - playoff team - started off 5-0...went 5-6 with the remaning games
'12 - 4-12 record - nuff said
'13 - started off 6-3...had the division giftwrapped...ends up 7-9

I'm glad he's dead...
and out of those 21 wins maybe 4 were against teams with winning records
