I remember when he wrote an op-ed comparing Irish peoples' struggle in Amerca to black peoples'. :camby:

People were saying Obama should've chose this clown as VP in 08.

Former Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA), who briefly ran for the Democratic presidential nomination this election cycle, said during a Friday morning interview that he would not vote for Hillary Clinton—and hasn't ruled out voting for Donald Trump.

"No, I would not vote for Hillary Clinton," Webb said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

What about the Republican presidential frontrunner?

"I'm not, I'm not sure yet. I don't know who I'm going to vote for," he said.

But not Clinton?

"No. Look, this is nothing personal about Hillary Clinton, but the reason I think Donald Trump is getting so much support right now is not because of the racist, you know, et cetera, et cetera, it's because people are seeing him," Webb said. "A certain group of people are seeing him as the only one who has the courage to step forward and say we've got to clean out the stables of the American governmental system right now."

Webb said he has one piece of advice for Trump.

"If there were one piece of advice that I would give Donald Trump, if I knew Donald Trump, it would be, you know, instead of just doing these debates, find one of these issues and make a major policy speech so people can see how you're going to communicate if you're president," Webb said.

Webb also pushed back against Trump's claim that military members will listen to him, even if he orders war crimes.

"There's a thing called the law, you know, and if you are receiving an illegal order you do not obey. And you have the moral authority not to obey," he said.

Webb considered an independent bid for the White House after dropping out of the Democratic presidential race last year, but ultimately decided against it.

You should have known after he blamed focuses on "identity" politics or the specific issues of various constituents as the Democrats' problem and when he continuously praised Reagan. He is a perfect example of how bad Democrats wanted to get the Senate and House back from 06 to 2008. They brought in a bunch of non-progressives.

I was there then, 2006, I think. We were thirsty as fukk back then, and I thought Claire McCaskill was going to be our first Elizabeth Warren. Boy was I slipping. :dame:

Yeah, Jim didn't seem high on any real Democratic principles, but he was a broker against the war machine as he was the only real former military official that was pro-Democrat. I thought we needed him as VP too, for awhile, and then I checked his voting record after he won. It was nearly the same as it would've been with Allen, but we had a nice talking head with gravitas.:manny:

McCaskill's betrayal was a bit different (she went hard corporatist), as it's like your mom flat out shytting on everything you believed in, with the most credibility in the party, outside of Hillary as a woman.

Webb is cool, He is a blue collar liberal populist. Yes it may seem to be catering more Appalachian whites, but their struggle is our struggle, and our struggle is their struggle

He was one of those Bluedog Corporate Democrats. No more or no less. I really don't see how he was there other than to be a talking head, although I loved the steal from Allen. And you're right about the shared struggle. It's something people like Randy Moss gets, but us "sophisticated" people don't.

How many of us you think they'd take out first?:mjcry: Remember how many brothers go to their schools. I just think we need to bring them back to the light with progressives principles, and out of the coal age that ain't coming back, and they'll be loyal to us for a century. I mean, the research triangle is RIGHT by them. Let them be the test case in some new advancements in energy creation.
