Auburn from 01-06?You can't have that "I'm not going to LSU cause I wouldn't beat Alabama" mentality, if that was the case, Saban wouldn't have came here cause we hadn't beaten Auburn since 2001. Some people look for a challenge.

If you're gonna win a championship you're gonna have to go through Saban anyway. You're gonna have to see Alabama at some point so if you're gonna be the best you're gonna have to go at the best.

Would you rather Saban being the reason you're prevented from getting there or seeing him when you get there?
Let me clarify. If GT was on an even keel and the GA BoR allowed them to have a liberal arts program, you mean to tell me they wouldn't get their fare share of talent out of the metro?

Not denying I am but you can't tell me Tech couldn't compete if they had a liberal arts program to hide players in. Every Tech poster on here will admit that. Donors would come. You'd see a uptick in Burdell Society donations. Maybe not enough to shift the balance of power in regards to in-state schools but enough where kids would probably pick playing in ATL over AthensYou are basically changing major dynamics to shape an argument.
In my lifetime they've had flashes with recruiting but never a sustained run challenging UGA. With the way college football is now I don't see it.
Not really. They have a lot of wealthy alum, they just don't give a dang about football and the group that did is getting older. Not denying I am but you can't tell me Tech couldn't compete if they had a liberal arts program to hide players in. how the hell did this become a topic?
Do you understand how difficult it is to get into Tech? Ask @iamstr8fire @Mr Hate Coffee @The_Sheff @Rekkapryde about it. You're talking about when you've already been accepted and choosing a major, Tech isn't lowering their academic standards for football or any athletics. Tech academically is like Vanderbilt, Duke or Stanford. UGA is the big state school where you don't even need a 3.0 to get in. So no adding one major is not going to even the playing field in terms of recruiting in Georgia
Adding majors would definitely help though. Having liberal arts majors (sociology, psychology, etc.) would be easier for athletes than the M-Train at GT (management).
But you're right in the fact that athletes still wouldn't be able to get out of taking calculus and physics and shyt. That's mandatory for all.

I don't know.....moving on
I think it would absolutely help, but there are things that can't be avoided at Tech. The issue is definitely not money, but willingness to add majors at the school. That is absolutely at the board of regents feet who are UGA biased. Our presidents have asked for adding majors in the past, but have been denied. Funny shyt is they had no problem adding an engineering program at UGA.![]()
