Jimi Hendrix - A Jimi Hendrix Vision (5x Vinyl & Blu Ray)

5x vinyl

Blu Ray DVD

The intention has been to make this set without the use of officially released material, although it has been necessary to cross into the gray area a few times on some tracks. However: The tracks that have been used are not readily available anymore, and the inclusion of them is based on their vital importance in making this set as complete as possible.

Missing on this set are Jimi's 1970 sessions with Stephen Stills and Love plus the complete Berkeley Soundchecks. However: The purpose of this set is just to show Jimi in the studio working toward his next album. Guest appearances with other artist's sessions just doesn't fit into the this picture. Also the Berkeley Soundchecks are well documented with the two shows of that night and don't need any further documentation.

More information:
Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision is the latest in-depth project from Experience Hendrix, encompassing 3CD/ 1 Blu-Ray DVD of previously unreleased music Jimi Hendrix recorded at his newly created recording facility in 1970. The deluxe box set offers 39 tracks (38 previously unreleased) that were recorded by the new-look Experience (Billy Cox on bass, Mitch Mitchell on drums) at Electric Lady Studios between June and August of 1970, just before the legendary musician’s untimely death the following month. The project also includes 20 newly created 5.1 surround sound mixes of the entire First Rays Of The New Rising Sun album plus three bonus tracks [“Valleys Of Neptune,” “Pali Gap,” and “Lover Man”]. The Blu-ray includes the critically acclaimed, full-length documentary Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision. The film chronicles the creation of the studio, rising from the rubble of a bankrupt Manhattan nightclub to state-of-the-art recording facility inspired by Hendrix’s desire for a permanent studio. Directed by John McDermott and Produced by Janie Hendrix, George Scott and McDermott, the film features exclusive interviews with Steve Winwood [who joined Hendrix on the first night of recording at the new studio], Experience bassist Billy Cox, and original Electric Lady staff members who helped Hendrix realize his dream. The documentary includes never-before-seen footage and photos as well as track breakdowns of Hendrix classics such as “Freedom,” Angel” and “Dolly Dagger” by recording engineer Eddie Kramer. The package includes an extensive booklet filled with unpublished photos, Hendrix’s handwritten song drafts, and comprehensive liner notes.

this thread took a big turn

first of all hendrix isn't the best. lets get that clear, his style on guitar is alien though. Jimmy page eats hendrix food. SRV >> any blues artist. Clapton is good but his style isn't really tearing it up on the guitar although he does that, but that's why dudes could always outdo him. his style is more performing songs well, he does a lot of good non bluesy rnb songs. Also feedback was done before hendrix because feedback is simply the outcome of playing with amps lol but he added it into the guitar playing which was alien.

Those old artists are dope but watch any performance with old and new its embarassing they can't even move there fingers fast enough even though they have been playing guitar for like 60 years. Many newer rock artists like page etc. came from folk guitar, spanish, flemenco etc. which is about 100 times harder than any blues song. That's when you started getting all this great rock.

And clapton isn't really racist, he said something liek they have to stop letting so many immigrants into britain. A british person can't make that statement? You would only disagree if you have no history or country to call your own.

Don't know if this has been said but my Pop's (who's from that era) said the reason Hendrix pulled out all the stops & shut that shyt down was because racist Eric Clapton & them made him open the show when he didn't want to. Hendrix straight told all those white clowns if he opens up, no one was gonna wanna play after his performance lol
