Eazy e did it first .. nobody was appalled when arsenic let eazy do it
There were plenty black folks appalled. They were just called old and "out of touch" or "Uncle Toms" for saying the music was destructive and a net negative in the movement for black empowerment.

Even if you think Eazy and NWA were justified in basically being the "voice of the struggle", that was 30+ years ago. We know conditions are bad in the hood...we don't need black men making music about drugs and murder to recognize this.

What are you doing to be part of the solution? Making yourself rich by promoting the death of your people is the devils work.

You had to be there lol. Eazy and them crawled so these dudes could walk. Man people get mad when somebody tweets a hateful comment towards rappers now, imagine if it was an all out blitz to get rap out of here now like it was back then. We clowned the people that were going against rap but it definitely made sense then.. rap was still new and people were trying to understand it. Like I mean somehow they got the African medallion and Malcolm X gear wearing folks out of here for gangsta rap and shyt just got out of hand after that. You’re right, do we really need to still run with the “hood CNN” or the “reporting what’s going on in the hood” shyt in 2021? I ask myself that stuff all the time.

White folks will put us up on that stage to embarrass ourselves in the name of "diversity" and then talk bad about us amongst themselves about how ignorant and violent the music is.

Don't fall for the okie doke.

You make a valid point and here's an example: Adam22

Two old cacs giving their opinion on the state of hip hop / rap / drill music. This interview was low key:mjpls::mjpls::mjpls:

We needed to tell what was going on...now it's just self fulfilling prophecy. So busy 'telling it like it is' that we never tell it how it should be. Round and round we go.

The word is powerful, even more when it's paired with beats that bypass the critical thinking faculties, the people who run the rap game know this.

Everywhere...You never there.
Terrible performance

Negro was so high , he took the microphone away from his mouth while reciting his lyrics to gesture with his hands ... Negro did you forget you have a live mic you’re rapping into and first and foremost as an emcee you have to be heard ?!!! :mindblown:
