I don't know all the details about Dre's deal. But this I know. Dre NEVER paid for any album, marketing, or budget at Interscope for his Aftermath artists. Interscope footed the bill for everything. Dre had a blank check. He never paid for anything. And Dre had total control over his own album.Iovine could never tell him to release Detox. Don't you think Jimmy would've forced Detox out years ago if he had that control? Dre controls Dre. Jimmy had say over Aftermath releases. That was in exchange for Jimmy buying 70 percent of Aftermath for like 75-100 million.

As far as Beats by Dre, yeah Dre was the brand that built the company. But Jimmy was the businessman. Jimmy did all the legwork on the business end. Dre handled the creative. Jimmy & Dre are perfect business partners. Dre doesn't like to do more then the creative aspects of business. Jimmy is the hammer with the connects and biz savvy. They both made a fortune. No one should be bitter. This deal is perfect for both of them. They know the music biz is over, they just cashed out before the Titanic hit.
