Can you guys stop with the 'compete with head phones' bullshyt?

NEVER was 50 cent even close to Beats, EVER.
He launched the same product, in the same market, targeting the same demographic. In business, that is defined as competition, which is based on the intention to win market share rather than making any reference to company size of profitability. I deal with businesses all the time who talk about "competitors" or "competition" who are sometimes 100x larger or smaller than they are.

com|pete
[kəmˈpiːt]
VERB
  1. strive to gain or win something by defeating or establishing superiority over others

... is what 50 tried to do. As we know, it went badly badly wrong, but your pedantry on the term 'compete' is misplaced here b

Give Jews dikkbslobs over a black businessman who had enough intelligence to get rich outside of the pony trick he was signed up to do. The beats imvestment venture was molded after 50s and Lightys investment deal.

Iovine is a vulture. A smart one but a vulture none the less. 50 transcended what a dumb rapper should be. Not bad for a former crack dealer from queens....

Him going at jimmy with the headphones is when i really got respect for 50 honestly

That was the most gangsta shyt he ever did in my opinion

I admire his tenacity that move was pac like

Fearless hustler

Gotta respect that even if it didnt pan out the way he wanted

It took some real balls to execute the plan

50 pride killed him more than jimmy

If he bowed his head and bided his time, Jimmy would've let him hold a mid level position, stay relevant and make average money

Instead he tried to compete on headphones, take on Interscope and speak out of turn in order to try maintain his boss status

Ultimately, it didn't work on some fronts (music, headphones, paper probably suffered) but he is still a boss in his world, which he would not have been if he played the underling role.

Anyone who would've taken the label check will say he's wrong, and theyre correct from a security standpoint. But then he never would've taken on Preme and won, went diamond, made hundreds of mills and did it big if he had that mindset.

Hard to say there's a right or wrong when we're talking about male pride, ego, boss status, company men, logic, beef and history all mixed together.... but I bet the behind the scenes shyt we don't know is even deeper than all that.

I might lean towards keeping cool in the system and taking checks.... but then again I'm not a hustlin ass nicca from Queens who sold crack to survive, so I don't see the world like they do.

Yeah...expect some of these btich ass hipster to fully grasp what you just said.

Ego, male pride talk and we got dudes posting selfies that reek of estrogen...

Would rep if I could though.
