Even if the Dems take back the house. They need monumental turnout to flip the Senate to a level to really combat Trump or the SCOTUS. Dems need a 65-35 type control of the Senate to really push significant change. And seeing as at almost any given time 20-23 of the States will be represented by two Republicans they have set 40-46 Senators. Dems have a problem keeping everyone in line when they have 51 seats. They need a cushion to balance out the Manchins, Sinema types that when they get in the Senate they break rank on pivotal votes. Where Susan Collins clutches her pearls and is super disappointed she still doesn't break from her party enough. Dems need majorities that can counter balance that. So it would take crazy turnout to override the gerrymandering etc. that has aided this Republican hellscape. Talking the type of shyt where there is so much turnout in Louisiana that they go Dem across the board for the first time in probably 60 years kind of shyt.
