Update: WWE Removes Jimmy Superfly Snuka's Name from the Hall of Fame Section of WWE.com

WWE has removed Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka from the Hall of Fame section of WWE.com. Snuka’s profile has also been removed from the website.

As noted, WWE did issue an official statement yesterday commenting on the news of Snuka’s arrest on 3rd degree murder and involuntary manslaughter charges, and they noted Snuka’s Legends contract is “under review.”

However, while Snuka’s name no longer appears in the Hall of Fame section, WWE has yet to make an official announcement regarding Snuka’s current Hall of Fame status.

WWE.com pulling Snuka’s name and profile is similar to what they did with Hulk Hogan, after his racial controversy took place back in July, however as of now it does not appear WWE intends to scrub Snuka from the site as they did with Hogan. WWE.com is still featuring articles and videos pertaining to Jimmy Snuka.

This whole removing and scrubbing shyt is so fukking stupid and truth be told its not really happening anyway, you can still find stuff of people you think are scrubbed. This company doesnt even actually try to be what it wants to be. They are so inconsistent

Irrespective of Hogan and Snuka's transactions, the just coming out and saying "Yo we've scrubbed them, its not on us :whoa:" is sooooo fake.

Least they forget scrubbing shyt and making it go away it what got them in trouble in the first place.

Lost 92 legends, had to fall back

WWE confirmed the suspension of Snuka's non-wrestling "Legends" contract, which essentially had him operating as an ambassador for the company, and added that it is "currently removing his images from our media platforms pending the outcome of this case." Earlier this year, WWE took similar steps to distance itself from Hulk Hogan, after it was revealed the former Heavyweight Champion made racially insensitive comments.

Jimmy (Superfly) Snuka’s lawyer argues all those years getting bashed in the ring make him unfit to stand trial for girlfriend’s 1983 murder
BY Edgar Sandoval , Larry Mcshane
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
Updated: Wednesday, September 2, 2015, 6:04 PM

A lawyer for legendary wrestler Jimmy Snuka says the Superfly’s decades in the ring left him too punch-drunk to face murder charges in the 1983 death of his girlfriend.

The 72-year-old Snuka, who arrived for court Tuesday in a wheelchair, suffered enough shots to his head to raise questions about his competence, said defense attorney William E. Moore.

“Ask him a question, he smiles and nods,” Moore said Wednesday. “Ask him enough questions, and he’ll admit to the Kennedy assassination — ‘Yeah, I was there on the grassy knoll.’”

Moore compared the head trauma suffered by wrestlers to that of NFL players, with one notable exception: “They don’t wear helmets. These guys get banged up.”

Handout
A grand jury found that Snuka did not seek immediate medical help for Argentino after he inflicted her with the deadly injuries.

One forensic analyst apparently told Moore that Snuka could not aid in his own defense.

A New Jersey neighbor of the WWE Hall of Famer said Snuka’s health was failing. The wrestler, in addition to the wheelchair, was attached to a feeding tube when he arrived at court.

“Leave him alone,” the neighbor said. “He’s sick. He’s dying. He’s not coming back.”

Snuka was charged Tuesday with murder and involuntary manslaughter in the May 11, 1983, death of his 23-year-old girlfriend Nancy Argentino of Brooklyn.

Angentino died at a Pennsylvania hospital from a fractured skull and brain injuries, according to an autopsy that also indicated she had 39 contusions and abrasions all over her body.

A grand jury found that Snuka, after inflicting the fatal injuries, did not call for medical help for at least 12 hours — and perhaps as long as 24 hours.

The dead woman’s sisters pushed for Lehigh County District Attorney James Martin to reopen the cold case two years ago, leading to the stunning charges against the high-flying inventor of the “Superfly Splash.”

Snuka, accused of murder in the 1983 death, disappeared after making bail. There was no sign of the Fiji Islands native at his southern New Jersey home.

Prosecutors would undoubtedly challenge any claim of incompetence and ask for their own expert to examine Snuka.

So...................... Snuka lawyer is arguing he's unfit to stand trial ehh :sas2:

nancy argentino was actually a fine ass lady though.

This is Meltzer talking about an incident 4 months before he killed her:

Peter Bronstad, a former Captain in the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department testified about the Syracuse incident at the Howard Johnson Motor Lodge.

He testified that they had received a call at 1:40 a.m. by a clerk working the front desk that a guy was dragging a naked female down the hallway. Two officers arrived and he said they saw Snuka dragging a naked Argentino, who was covered by a blanket, down the hallway by the hair. She was screaming that she wanted to get away. He said the officers reported Snuka dragged her by the hair into their room, and she was yelling and crying for Snuka to let her go while he yelled at the deputies to go away. The deputies, seeing the size of Snuka, called for backup.

Bronstad was part of the backup, with several more deputies and a canine unit. They attempted to get Snuka to open the door. When he didn’t Bronstad said he ordered the deputies to take down the door and arrest Snuka since Argentino was still crying for help. After a struggle with a number of officers and police dogs, they arrested Snuka and handcuffed him while Argentino was in the corner of the room, crying in pain.

It took eight deputies and two dogs to get Snuka under control. He was taken in and booked on charges of obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest and counts of assault related to both Argentino and the deputies. Argentino was hospitalized at that point with injuries to her head, back and scalp from being dragged by the hair. Snuka plea bargained down to reduced charges and paid a fine that was donated to charity, and apologized.

At the time, the view among wrestling fans who did know about the Syracuse incident is that it got Snuka over even stronger, because the news reports talked about how Snuka was able to fight off eight officers and two police dogs before finally being subdued. At the time fans wanted their wrestlers to be real-life badasses, and if anything, this made Snuka even more popular, as it legitimized his “Fijian wildman” persona. In stories about the incident in the Syracuse market, fans reacted to Snuka like his wrestling character, saying that he used to be a bad guy but, with his babyface turn, he had changed.

Anybody know what this overseas incident was?

The Argentino family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Snuka, and won a default judgment of $500,000 in 1985. Snuka never paid, claiming he was broke. Snuka remained a top star in WWF through 1985, where issues with drugs and a problem on an overseas tour that cost the company sizeable money to get him out of, largely ended his tenure with the company.

Doctor: Ex-wrestler Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka mentally incompetent for trial

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Former professional wrestler Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka suffered so many blows to the head during his long career — even getting a coconut smashed on his skull — that he now suffers from dementia and is mentally incompetent to stand trial in the death of his girlfriend more than three decades ago, a psychologist testified Friday.

Snuka's severe mental impairment also stems from a history of abusing alcohol and cocaine, Dr. Frank Dattilio testified at the former wrestling star's competency hearing.

Snuka was charged with murder and involuntary manslaughter last year in the 1983 death of 23-year-old Nancy Argentino, who was from New York. The 72-year-old former professional wrestling standout's lawyer asserts he doesn't understand the charges or even know he was arrested.

Lehigh County Judge Kelly Banach, after hearing from prosecution and defense experts, will decide if Snuka is competent to stand trial.

Snuka, who was in the courtroom for Friday's hearing in Allentown, has pleaded not guilty and is free on bail. His attorney, Robert Kirwan II, has called Argentino's death an "unfortunate accident."

Testifying for the defense, Dattilio said he had a "hell of a time" trying to get even basic background information from Snuka.

"This is permanent damage, and he's not likely to be restored to competence," Dattilio said.

The wrester, a Fiji native, had been at a World Wrestling Federation taping at the Allentown Fairgrounds. He told police shortly after Argentino's death that he had returned to their Whitehall Township hotel room to find her unresponsive in bed. She was pronounced dead at a hospital several hours later.

An autopsy determined she died of traumatic brain injuries and had more than three dozen cuts and bruises, and it concluded her injuries were consistent with being hit with a stationary object. But the probe went cold, and Snuka continued his high-profile pro wrestling career.

After a 2013 story by The Morning Call newspaper raised questions about the case, Argentino's sisters approached Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin, who reopened the investigation.

A grand jury report said Snuka, who lives in Waterford Township, New Jersey, had provided more than a half-dozen shifting accounts of Argentino's injuries, at first telling paramedics he hit her during an argument outside their hotel room and she struck her head on concrete, then saying to police she slipped and fell during a bathroom break on their way to the hotel.

The grand jury also said it heard evidence that Snuka beat Argentino four months before her death and repeatedly assaulted his wife, Sharon Snuka, in the fall of 1993. Snuka has long maintained his innocence.

Snuka was known for diving from the ropes in a career that spanned four decades. He was admitted into the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame in 1996, according to the organization's website.
