Job forcing us from hybrid to completely on site

I just feel so down. After having 3 months of on-site training and having the feel the luxury of WFH for the past few months, it's just a slap in the face to be told you are mandated to work in person. My commute is 1.5 hours each way. I was enjoying the time I had staying at home and chilling and studying. And now it's all gone. I'm glad I've been interviewing already, but this ruined my day.

Obviously I'm still motivated to keep applying and keep upskilling myself, but man smh I just gotta vent.

Lol already been searching even before the announcement. Just to be prepared. Thank god I did because I would've been lost had I just started applying now. I had 2 interviews this week, one last week. Hopefully get some good news soon.

My manager is the one who is pissed too because he was looking forward to hybrid. He's going to try to talk to our VP either end of this month or next month. If not, I'm going to talk to my Account Relations Manager if he can move me to a different client that's hybrid or remote. Since I work for an MSP, it might be possible.

That's why I been interviewing. But I can't leave without another offer. Hybrid is okay when I'm only in twice a week.

This is why upskilling is a must because some companies were bound to pull some shyt like this sooner or later. Depending on what field you're in, when you have options and are in demand, then these companies have less leverage.

On good news tho. I found a job that's 3 days WFH, pays 10k more, and seems to have more opportunities

I would drive 20 minutes to the train. 40 minute train ride to the city. and a 15 minute walk more or less. coming back home it was normally a bit longer.
