Barring unforeseen circumstance, inflation should be close to 2% before election day next year. I'd expect it will need to be close to that well before election day to truly have the most impact. We've basically got five months before the winter holiday shopping season (Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Christmas/NYE). To me that's the point where this really has to show remarkable improvement that people feel in their pocket. Right now, waving around a chart isn't going to make any regular American happy. If you can wave around that chart in November while people notice lower prices, then we can talk.
