i mentioned before that for privacy conscious individuals masks being normalized was great. someone posted a video tweet of bill gates walking around nyc without visible security and he had a mask on.

I remember during mid-2020, LL cool J was posting videos of himself walking around queens and taking the bus while wearing a mask. some high-profile people just want to do regular things in public without being mobbed.
