All this through and through in addition to the "inflation"/price-gouging we're seeing here and there and finally housing. Increased house prices, increased rent, mandatory down payments here and there, increased vehicle prices, it will feel like the world is collapsing on some people. Add that many of these young people were fed lines about progressive policies being important, only for the dems to run away from many of them, mostly because of two nitwit senators showing how dysfunctional the party is, and it becomes less than surprising to see why these young people feel as they do. Add the bailouts given to corporations but nothing for actual people and the issues compounds itself even more.


I'm curious about this too. I do think a portion of the black male vote will drop off. The simple fact is that black men feel, rightly so, let down by the party and many of them don't feel represented by the party. It feels as if the party puts many other groups and ideologies before black men despite their loyalty over the years so I can imagine many feeling slighted. Hell I do a lot of times.

Honestly man, the Democratic Party only views black men as useful idiots. The only time they hold us up is when we’re victims of state violence because it allows them to play hero around election season. They also use our deaths for profit and as a Segue to highlight feminist and LGBTQ issues.

Loyalty means nothing to these cacs, In fact, I’d argue that it gives them the impression that we’re suckers, because we’re easily satisfied with the bare minimum. Another problem is the fact that we negotiate from a place of weakness rather than strength. Black politicians go to Washington with a beggars mentality. Why are you begging when you’re paying for a product with the same currency as everyone else. Your vote. If you piss off cacs, they will run primaries against you (see the Tea Party under Obama) or flat out organize to curtain call your career. We’re way too ‘live and let live’ for my liking

You don’t view Manchin and Sinema as Democrats, but that’s what they are in the ballot. It’s why I laugh at the notion that people keep bringing up Progressives and other splinter parties when it’s only two that matter at the end of the day when it comes down to it.
