What's so bad about it.

I would say the root of the problems in the Black community - at least the one I am from - are kids that are treated as strays that no one really wants.

All the "mistakes" that these thoughtless people make end up being desperate and broken adolescents struggling to survive in a world they never asked for.

Street gangs are essentially groups of young people with little else they can depend on, who cling to one another. And since there's no guidance they just do whatever.

Don't write me a bunch of stories about your homeboy who was rich and had both parents but still joined a gang. That's not the overall character of this phenomenon.

Again, I lived it. All the dudes who made up my crew as a teen were 80% dudes with nowhere to even go besides the flop house we all hung out at. I was one of the ones with a pretty decent home situation, but my moms was super under employed, pops was in the rear view, and we were cared for by moms parents. My grandfather let me know at a young age that my father wasn't shyt and by extension we were a stain. An embarrassment. His perfect princess was lead astray by my bum ass father and now here we are to eat up his food.

I don't think much of all that, but I am certain that I lived DOWN to his opinion of me. I've always felt pretty worthless and as such I do dumb shyt that's not good for me.

(That got heavy and dark)

So that's the issue

Just because the parents aren't together doesn't mean the father can't be in their life. I haven't been with the mother of my two daughters for like 8 years but stay an active participant in my daughter's lives. Just as damaging to children are parents staying together who are absolutely miserable with each other. They turn that sadness and anger at the situation towards their children and the children see the parent's fukked up relationship as the norm.

So it's wrong to say that if two people have a child together they need to stay together. The real reality is that people need to take responsibility and make their children a priority regardless of the relationship with the mother.

Close the “marry these women” part of the thread.

Go to Mal for advice:

"Maaan, you know how I see it. Like, it's what I've BEEN saying. You know what I mean? The thing is though, that you know ... you know life is just crazy. It's something I've been thinking about lately too. Something is going on and ... I dunno man."

he just posted a video with his son tonight.

i guess that's cool. i don't really like to go off media posts as proof of what the relationship is but that's cool. hopefully he can be there more often than not but i dont see how that can happen if you going weeks without talking to the mommy/daddy. may they got a person to go in between them and pick the kid up
