Joe Budden Calls Dee-1 A ''Nasty Clout Chasing Christian'', Dee-1 Responds Back

I never listened to his actual tapes before but I really liked his verse on a starlito song and watched an interview, way back.



And I’m not sure why people are calling him a Christian rapper. I thought he just decided to rap about positive stuff and not encourage drugs and violence since he was a school teacher. Did he announce he was becoming a Christian rapper at some point, and I missed it?

They just call him that because he’s a zealous Christian but I always just took him to be a positive rapper. Like, one of the songs he made was about paying your student loans off even though you riding in a old ass car

The issue is that it's very easy to accuse someone of clout chasing simply because they posted a video and was naming names.

Clout chasing don't have to have a negative connotation all the time. What's wrong with Dee-1 wanting to be the first guy to really call ppl out by name for the sake of positive change in hip hop? So it's not clout chasing if he made a general message that has fallen on deaf ears time and time again but it's clout chasing that he can put a name to his example? People suck.....pause

Because he being disingenuous and playing dumb. This nikka acted bewildered over a Rick Ross and meek mill song because meek mill was rapping violent lyrics. This nikka said that he had gave kids shoes with reform on them from Meeks prison reform movement, and was disappointed to see him rapping like this. How can you not see the bullshyt in this? He knows very well the type of rapper Meek was when he gave the shoes out. If Meeks lyrics were that much of an issue, he should have never been giving kids Meek Mill shoes in the first place. It’s very disingenuous

I dont care for Meek or Dee-1 to be honest but to Dee-1's credit, Meek has been TALKING reform outside of music, crying on social media about being oppressed by police, speaking for black men in the hood like he the savior and still thugging it out in his music and that is hilariously contradictory to me. I'm guessing Dee gave him a chance to figure it out and realized the nikka Meek won't change for shyt in the end and called him out....I think that's very fair.

I think it’s very disingenuous. At no point has meek mill been anything but a gangster rapper. Dee 1, as a non gangster rapper that works with the youth should not be giving out gangster rapper shoes to kids….then crying cause they still a gangster rapper
