This just further leads me to believe that @RichYung wasn't far off in saying Joe Budden was baiting. I listened to episode 60 of his podcast and hes looking for attention. The reason I still don't fully jump on board is he's ALWAYS looking for attention. That's how he got his eye blacked by Wu. He LOVES to hear himself talk and LOVES his own opinion......

But the fact that they are DMing each other like this, makes me believe that it could have been handled a different way that wouldn't have attracted so much attention.....

Drake is the master of talking down on someone while not making it seem like he's doing it. He does it to women in his songs and hes doing it to Budden in DMs. 500 bucks a diss track he's willing to pay him

If Joe baited Drake then he did a terrible job. In the episode 60 podcast thread not one person noticed. People actually said Joe was dikk riding too much.

I guess the counter to this is "well, Drake noticed"....but this is the same guy that dissed the President over his opinion. It's far more likely Drake is just sensitive.

Or hell, let's play devil's advocate and say he did bait him. Drake is an idiot for falling for it because this board has spent the better part of a month claiming Drake doesn't even know Joe exists.

He was and still is a Drake dikk rider if you ask me. I just think that he wanted the attention so bad he decided to switch it up. I also think Drake is sensitive and he got upset cuz not only does he know Joe, he was cool with Joe.

Here's the timeline of events:

Joe Budden stated his opinion of disapproval of Drake's album Views. He said Drake sounded uninspired and whatnot. An instagram clip of this goes viral so much so Hot 97 had Joe call in to explain his opinion.

Then an instagram clip of French Montana with Drake in the studio is posted of a record with French and Drake (No Shopping) comes out and Drake is saying "pump pump pump it up"

Then Drake drops 4pm in Calabassas where he had a "we used to be brothers of the same struggle"... "now their whole demeanor spells envy" which Joe took as a subliminal (Fat Joe had an album called J.O.E Jealous Ones Envy)

Then Budden releases his diss tracks, no shopping comes out and here we are today.

Whats really annoying about this is that the more people side with how Drake is handling this the more it's gonna be accepted in the future. Beef isn't gonna be the same where it's settled through bars or fists instead it'll be settled by letting either your fans handle it or the internet creating memes and whoever has the best meme wins.

Sad really. Download/Buy all your favourite legends albums and diss tracks now people, they're gonna be artifacts of the golden age.
