The subs on 4pm were light, no shopping was blatant and he put it out there as a snippet on his own voilition.

And I don't feel like you can blame it on the podcast because if anything as a Budden fan I was rather disgusted with all the passes he was giving that nikka. At no time was he saying anything that actual Drake fans were saying on here about his "Trap" phase or other shyt they weren't fukkin with.

Drake jumped out the window with a nikka that likes to do nothing more than rap, that's his fault.

How did Drake start it? I haven't been paying attention too much, just heard a free of the joints.

Here's the timeline of events:

Joe Budden stated his opinion of disapproval of Drake's album Views. He said Drake sounded uninspired and whatnot. An instagram clip of this goes viral so much so Hot 97 had Joe call in to explain his opinion.

Then an instagram clip of French Montana with Drake in the studio is posted of a record with French and Drake (No Shopping) comes out and Drake is saying "pump pump pump it up"

Then Drake drops 4pm in Calabassas where he had a "we used to be brothers of the same struggle"... "now their whole demeanor spells envy" which Joe took as a subliminal (Fat Joe had an album called J.O.E Jealous Ones Envy)

Then Budden releases his diss tracks, no shopping comes out and here we are today.

That's another example of nikkas tryinta change the rules, rewrite the historical narrative, to suit their argument. It's become standard modus operandi for these fukkbois.

I consider it a lot like the kind of crowd worship and idolization you see with professional sports teams, athletes and their fans. I don't watch or care about sports at all, but you see people cling to the stats, successes of these men whom they barely know, (nor in many cases have anything in common with) but through their worship they can share in these victories and triumphs.

There are various reasons for this, depending on the fan, there is a real shift from maybe 10 years ago, and the former fans of 50 Cent and that brand of rap, are now much more comfortable listening to the more refined Drake, who more accurately reflects their values and life experiences, so that plays a part too.

I heard a friend of mine the other day say the same shyt, 'it's 2016, rapping, writing your own lyrics all that doesn't matter' (or words to that effect), thats the other part, which is millenial, though I am one too, is to embrace the easiest way in all things, not to have convictions and pride in your choices, but just shrug and say 'Oh well, it's 2016' with a stupid smirk.
