Not a zoomer and idc about no damn nba youngboy. It’s just a dumb discourse because older people are never going to understand the appeal of some shyt thats made for teens to consume. Happened in every era and will keep happening
Its history. If you are older and grew up at a time when the quality of music was better, you cannot tolerate a watered down product.

How many of these one hit wonders and these autotune scammers will have dedication concerts 30 years from now? 10 Years?

:what: This is the exact bias he's talking about, there was a lot less music back then, it was filtered by industry and cultural gatekeepers. The 'golden age' of hip hop was manufactured around a dozen or so albums from artists who would go on to have poor discographies, save for the best of the best. Don't compare your best shyt to our worst. The modern ziesgiest is so decentralized that it's almost impossible to build that same legacy regardless of the quality of the music, but it also means the average album is much more creative and niche. The modern indie era absolutely shyts on the underground culture before the internet, so I'll call it even.

Breh,
It's not about the "Understanding the Appeal", SMH
The QUALITY of the music has gone down.
Most of these Dudes, can't even fully articulate a sentence.
They literally Mumble on the track, add some sound effect "Adlibs".
AND the Majority of the music is about MURDERING OTHER BLACK PEOPLE.
There is ZERO DEFENSE for this garbage, PERIOD!
The problem is that the consumers are so used to "Eating Slop"...
They don't know it came from the GARBAGE!

I've said it before on here, this type of emotional reaction is the exact same misunderstanding you would see between the fans of classic rock and punk/hardcore. 20+ years later unbiased people can see the value in both genres, I listen to youngboy and masta ace, they're both good, neither is 'better'.

It's like saying "my Porsche is faster than your tractor", it's fukking idiotic they're built for different functions. I don't want to speed on the freeway to fukking masta ace:russ:

That last part is brilliant bro and I've been reading forums for damn there 2 decades. The complaints are always the same no matter the generation. nikkas was crying and downing Lil Wayne on AHH/SOHH when he was on his Carter 2/Dedication 2 run. People would KILL to have a new young rapper that skilled with mainstream attention now. 😄 This shyt will only sound weirder and more foreign in the next 10 years and some will possibly beg for at least the talent level of today's guys. We getting old brehs. I do think lil homie is garbo though 😅
