At least he's being honest! A lot of these 40 something y/o nikkas like to lie about liking newer music just so they can fit in with the youth and not be seen as a "old nikkas". To me old nikkas copying and dikk riding young nikkas is pathetic.

Even fans are starting to say how hip hop is turning into bullshyt and watered down! A lot of this shyt is garbage!

This is the type of shyt that makes y'all :flabbynsick: It's the tunnel visioned, baseless, self righteousness

Just completely disregard the fact that some of these nikkas might be telling the truth about liking some of these artists. Nah it's impossible because some of them nikkas yall heroes and you can't fathom them having different taste than you

I remember this same shyt happened when Raekwon cosigned Wayne in 07. Them autistic ass Wu stans were juelzing their asses off. ":damn: hehe..he don't fukk with Wayne the labels made him do that collab" or maybe he actually meant what he said:mjlol:

It's hilarious that nikkas still do this with Young Thug despite numerous cosigns across ages and musical genres. Fukkin Elton John said Thug is a great artist. Eric Sermon called him a genius in his most recent interview. You can hear Thug influence all over Kendrick's DAMN album. The list goes on.

Y'all can sit on the high horse but the truth is some of these artists have the respect of the nikkas you respect and your fanatical cognitive dissonance renders you incapable of accepting it:mjlol:

Agree. And Future too (and nikkas that sound like him) fukkin trash too.

But he been around so people got used to his trash
MFod7C5.gif

Future is one of the best songwriters of the past decade. Probably ghostwrote some hits for rappers and singers you listen to :ld:
Unless he's ghostwriting for Lupe Fiasco, Kendrick, or Dave, I seriously doubt it :heh:
Its 2023 and the 40+ crowd is still trying to understand why they don’t like music that appeals to teens
"hardcore rap" is not supposed to appeal to teens, nikka :childplease:

This aint the Backstreet Boys:heh:

Hip-Hop has not been a "teen" based phenomenon since the R&B/rap divide of the '80s

Since the '90s, Hip-Hop has just been Hip-Hop

Either good or bad
:what: This is the exact bias he's talking about, there was a lot less music back then, it was filtered by industry and cultural gatekeepers. The 'golden age' of hip hop was manufactured around a dozen or so albums from artists who would go on to have poor discographies, save for the best of the best. Don't compare your best shyt to our worst. The modern ziesgiest is so decentralized that it's almost impossible to build that same legacy regardless of the quality of the music, but it also means the average album is much more creative and niche. The modern indie era absolutely shyts on the underground culture before the internet, so I'll call it even.

I've said it before on here, this type of emotional reaction is the exact same misunderstanding you would see between the fans of classic rock and punk/hardcore. 20+ years later unbiased people can see the value in both genres, I listen to youngboy and masta ace, they're both good, neither is 'better'.

It's like saying "my Porsche is faster than your tractor", it's fukking idiotic they're built for different functions. I don't want to speed on the freeway to fukking masta ace:russ:
Who are these dozen artists who had "poor discographies"? :stopitslime:

KRS-One?
Nas?
Biggie?
2pac?
NWA?
Ice Cube?
LL Cool J?
Dr. Dre?
Wu-Tang Clan?
Public Enemy?
Eric B. & Rakim?
Outkast?
A Tribe Called Quest?
De La Soul?

You nikkaz just be saying shyt to say shyt :heh:

And this bullshyt is not analogous to "punk rock", which was progressive politically & artistically, while being a tribute to the roots of '50s rock n roll.

Hip-Hop is more or less stuck in it's "Hair Metal" phase which 30 years later is still mocked & ridiculed for being the worst era of rock n roll & is mostly known for being made irrelevant by Nirvana:pachaha:
People often use the word trash or bad as harsher alternative to saying it’s not for them or admitting that they’ve outgrown that particular style or type of music. Also, people tend to remember the good music and artist more than the bad music, especially the music they grew up on. So it leads to an overstated nostalgia effect where everything on the current era is so bad compared to the past. The reality is, the music has evolved and people forget all the rappers and music they thought was trash back in the day. And Im also not of fan of his music
We laugh at trash ass rappers from back in the day all the time here.

We don't make fun of Vanilla Ice?

Hammer?

Silk Da Shocker?

Master P?

There's plenty of threads on here making fun of wack old school rappers on here.

As an old mf about to hit 40, it's hilarious to watch fans of Gucci, Jeezy and Wayne become the old elitst gatekeepers of hip hop that they were once fighting against in the 2000s.

And in 15 years Youngboy, Uzi and Carti fans gonna be washed talking about how trash the new crop of rappers are.

The circle of life :wow:
