I'm not gonna lie, there was a point where I called him GOAT, but that was prior to Mood Muzik 3.

or whatever.

He had high marks in everything but popularity.

Excellent MC,

Excellent record battling and defeating high level MCs (only lost to Saigon and one other rapper who's name escapes me)

Consistent as shyt with 4.25/5 or better with every release (despite being known as the "Pump It Up" dude, dropped nothing but classics material and guest spots)

Excellent work ethic, dropped new music and albums early and often while remaining consistent

Diverse as shyt (regular shyt, club shyt, street shyt, girl shyt, hippity hop "Im on the mic" shyt)

Only problem was, he wasn't popular.

I was calling him the Ryu (street fighter reference) of rap. He was above average in very stat except for whatever intangible that makes you Boss Level (popularity in rap).

Past a certain point though? nah.

Only people pointing out personal flaws would deny this.

Lyrics - check
Flow - check
Originality - check
Voice - check
Emotional Connection - check
Creativity/Subject matter without being corny - check

He has it all

Joe budden is corny on the mic and has a horrid voice. He's got multis though... that's all that matters.

If his career ended after MM3 than maybe. I regard MM2 as one the best bodies of music I heard in the 2000s for the record.
