He fukked them over by not taking that Spotify deal.

This.

I know everyone been on this ownership wave, but blanket statements in business are not wise.

Cash flow, percentage of gross revenue, and creative control are most important.

Joe fukked his friends over because of his bitterness towards the industry in general.

Charlamagne was right about Joe. Dude is self destructive towards his own ventures. I get he got fukked by the music industry, but he can't hold onto that for every future decision he makes.

Told brehs he would ruin this, like he has literally ruined everything in his life. Rory and Mal should have known. But they’re bums so they have no other options I guess.
Whatever happened to his deal with Revolt? I havent seen State Of The Culture pop on my youtube feed in years. Did he fukk that up too?

He said on the last pod that Justin LABOY took his budget
I used to root for Joe because he was forward thinking and always kept it hip hop but ever since he started chatty pattying about Spotify while still being paid by Spotify, I started to see him for who he really is

He's gotten so many opportunities to take advantage of but he pissed them all away as a result of his own arrogance under the guise of "being for the creators"

I really used to think he'd be the new age black Howard Stern

Crazy because he's undeniably talented and forward-thinking, he just doesn't know how to play the game very well.

EDIT: and I get he doesn't want to play the game or he wants to play by his own rules because he thinks his product is hot enough, but that's simply not the case.

Joe Budden is going to Dame Dash himself out the game in a few years. He should have took the Spotify deal then assess the situation after. I know ownership is the key but who's to say after that deal he wouldn't have had more leverage after. Plus it would have kept his people fed. Sometimes you got to look out for your team first instead of making selfish decisions.

The Spotify deal was a step to there hardwork paying off and Joe's toxic ass fukked that shyt up royally.

They seem to forget that the ownership wave doesn't extend to the people around him.

Nobody wants to talk about the stuff the last few posts are talking about. People just say start your business, but they don’t tell you where it takes and about the hardships. Joe did whet he did cause he bought into it too. The pandemic really messed a lot up and they could’ve got paid before it hit. I can’t tell that man what he could’ve done because I don’t know him but it does seem that all ther stuff he was trying to protect ain’t even relevant no more. It’s crazy how people are expecting the same folks that don’t even buy cds no more to subscribe to your service just to hear you talk. You’re taking a big risk doing that especially if you have a team of people to look out for.

exactly and then just like Dame he will be talking about these random ass Funky Finger Production ventures with very questionable value.

Joe should’ve sat his ass down and taken the Spotify deal. There’s nothing stopping Desus and Mero from putting effort into their podcast again and snatching up Joe’s lane or even co-signing some other cats if they don’t feel like talking about current industry shyt.

nobody on the team wanted the spotify deal.

stop lying. majority of the people posting in here are legit just crabs not fans shyt is hilarious. waiting on that mans downfall just to say I told you so

but you know misery loves company... from the thread title to the commentary, nikkaz can't wait to toe tag him. this is our culture. haters abound.
