What is the history of Budden getting black balled?

Dude was never mainstream after his second single which was cool. My fr roommate back in 05-06 used to bump his "mood Muzik" shyt heavy (think that was the name)

a) Basically..the way Joe acts on his podcast/youtube/online, is how he acts in person and behind closed doors..so he rubs minions/music execs with egos and political power the wrong way, as their little insecure egos get hurt. Jay is also in this mix.

b) Wanted to release a Mood Muzik type of album as his second album...label wanted him to make mainstream songs for women (a few of his singles/leaks from what would have been his second album at def jam are online). So he had to force himself off the label and go independent..to release the music he wanted.......hence Mood Muzik is born.

Sure you can. There's plenty of examples of rappers being cool with each other/respecting each other one week and beefing soon after. If/when Drake is taking shots at Budden on that French song then what? Budden should just be quiet because he is a Drake fan?

And saying Drake has ghostwriters isnt even a diss, but a proven fact

Joe said he's retired, AND said he would never make a track about Drake. If anything, he was reverse-psychology'ing the fukk out of him this whole time. Even getting ethered by Drake (not saying he would, just "if"), Joe would still get a W for becoming somewhat relevant again. More people know him now for being a Personality than a rapper :yeshrug:

@Hip-Hop Fan True...

To be clear though (although it wasn't your point), Joe never said he was retiring. He said that the recent shows he did were gonna be the last "Joe Budden shows". And being that he has seemed to be working almost only with Araabmuzik recently, I wouldn't be surprised if they are forming a some type of group.

and even if they're not forming a group/duo, not doing shows as a solo artist isn't exactly the same thing as retiring :manny:

I wish the French x Drake record would drop already though:francis: never been anticipating a song by 2 artists I really don't listen to (anymore) this much :dead:

I'll gladly take the L if Drake doesn't address Budden:dead:

Most of the songs that were intended to be on "the growth" are basically out now, man that album would of been fukking dope.

LOL @ him trying to act like it wasn't a diss.

Maybe it wasn't a diss song but those were diss lines.

I love Joe Budden fans narratives of shyt like this, it always cracks me up. It's always like 'label execs can't handle how real he is' 'he's such an awesome a$$hole that is talented but was held back'

Let me list all of the shyt that was pushed for his first album as if he was some fukking industry pariah....now these were all put together by the label to push him...the guy they hated since jump apparently....

- Was a player in a Def Jam Video game
-Single placement in Madden 03
-2 Fast 2 Furious Soundtrack placement
-You Got Served movie placement
-Mean girls movie placement
-Cradle 2 The Grave placement
- Coast 2 coast street teams heavy in New York and Los Angeles
- Just Blaze lead singles
- Payola up the ass for pump it up and focus.

He flopped. Didn't even hit gold. Barely outsold Juelz Santana first week who didn't have a 10th of the push. That's why they pushed him away. He didn't get black balled. They just didn't want to deal with a guy who doesn't sell records. As if he's the only a$$hole in the music industry :snoop:

For the dummies that say he is retired. He about to drop a classic with araabmuzik under the alias "rage"

If it goes to any type of beef on wax budden will EMBARRASS Drake.
