I agree but its interesting though cause Joey is still more paid than any battle rapper out there though, so he can stunt on any of them as hard as he wants![]()
not a good look for Joe, especially since he cant go off of the dome. he would need to be able to improvise to flip some of the shyt one would have on him (and it would be a lot). Out of Slaughter House Crooked I would do the best in that rap avenue.
They gonna break his spiritI think Budden would do the best, he's by far the most clever/witty of the bunch. And that's the biggest factor in battle rap now. How good your punchlines/meptahors are, and Budden is great at that aspect of rapping. Plus he has a powerful delivery

Battle rap material is written & these guys have time to prepare & craft their rounds. He could kind of anticipate what the mc is going to say. Honestly, being able to freestyle & rebuttal is only worth doing if you can do it at an extremely high level & make it blend with your written material. Otherwise it just comes off as sloppy.
I'm sure any lyricist that follows battle rap has that desire to jump on that stage & would like to do it, but I doubt it would ever happen.
Joe is such an easy target. It isn't what you say, it's how you say it. We already know what a battle rapper is gonna say against Joe, but if they present it in a clever way it could get ugly.
A lot of people in the booth don't really follow this era of battle rap, so I don't think yall realize how hard it is. 1st, he was to write 3 rounds of dope material, rehearse it, & be able to perform it convincingly without choking. During rounds, you will have niiggas talking, crowd interruption, etc & you can easily lose your train of thought.
Also, a guy like Joe wouldn't have the luxury of taking a tuneup. If he was to battle rap, he's gonna be paid to face a top guy who has been doing it for years. Also, that mc is gonna be so motivated for the opportunity to face Joe that he may see the best version of that mc. It's really not worth it imo

i see what you are saying here and agree that it's not worth it for him, but for us as fans it would be cool to see. but i feel if one has the ability to improvise it would take some of the pressure off of having to remember/spit writtens, plus you can easily win the crowd with a dope on the spot flip. I respect how cats do it today but I came up around cats thats could free with no problem and have the occassional written bar thrown in (more so a reversal of todays statndards). That process also weeded out a lot of cats thats couldn't battle, you had to be able to freestyle, otherwise take that shyt to wax![]()
I agree that being able to improvise is a great tool to have, but only if that MC can do it at an high level.
We are talking about great writers in battle rap. A well written structured verse will murder & overwhelm a dude who thinks he can come in there & just freestyle some shyt
That freestyle era is over. I'm only fond of freestyling when someone does it at a high level. I'm saying when they do it so well, you can't tell that it's off the top. Very few can do that. I've never cared to hear someone rambling what comes off the top of their head with rhymes that don't make any sense.
I don't really understand the booth though. I think battle rap has evolved for the better, but you got guys here who would still rather hear guys battle over a beat with some freestyles.
