not a good look for Joe, especially since he cant go off of the dome. he would need to be able to improvise to flip some of the shyt one would have on him (and it would be a lot). Out of Slaughter House Crooked I would do the best in that rap avenue.

I think Budden would do the best, he's by far the most clever/witty of the bunch. And that's the biggest factor in battle rap now. How good your punchlines/meptahors are, and Budden is great at that aspect of rapping. Plus he has a powerful delivery

Battle rap material is written & these guys have time to prepare & craft their rounds. He could kind of anticipate what the mc is going to say. Honestly, being able to freestyle & rebuttal is only worth doing if you can do it at an extremely high level & make it blend with your written material. Otherwise it just comes off as sloppy.

I'm sure any lyricist that follows battle rap has that desire to jump on that stage & would like to do it, but I doubt it would ever happen.

Joe is such an easy target. It isn't what you say, it's how you say it. We already know what a battle rapper is gonna say against Joe, but if they present it in a clever way it could get ugly.

A lot of people in the booth don't really follow this era of battle rap, so I don't think yall realize how hard it is. 1st, he was to write 3 rounds of dope material, rehearse it, & be able to perform it convincingly without choking. During rounds, you will have niiggas talking, crowd interruption, etc & you can easily lose your train of thought.

Also, a guy like Joe wouldn't have the luxury of taking a tuneup. If he was to battle rap, he's gonna be paid to face a top guy who has been doing it for years. Also, that mc is gonna be so motivated for the opportunity to face Joe that he may see the best version of that mc. It's really not worth it imo

i agree those are some of his strong points. he can still get easily caught though with the material already known about him. Inspectah Deck ripped him with stuff we already knew about, Deck was just sharp with it and he really isn't a battle emcee.

i see what you are saying here and agree that it's not worth it for him, but for us as fans it would be cool to see. but i feel if one has the ability to improvise it would take some of the pressure off of having to remember/spit writtens, plus you can easily win the crowd with a dope on the spot flip. I respect how cats do it today but I came up around cats thats could free with no problem and have the occassional written bar thrown in (more so a reversal of todays statndards). That process also weeded out a lot of cats thats couldn't battle, you had to be able to freestyle, otherwise take that shyt to wax :manny:

I agree that being able to improvise is a great tool to have, but only if that MC can do it at an high level.

We are talking about great writers in battle rap. A well written structured verse will murder & overwhelm a dude who thinks he can come in there & just freestyle some shyt

That freestyle era is over. I'm only fond of freestyling when someone does it at a high level. I'm saying when they do it so well, you can't tell that it's off the top. Very few can do that. I've never cared to hear someone rambling what comes off the top of their head with rhymes that don't make any sense.

I don't really understand the booth though. I think battle rap has evolved for the better, but you got guys here who would still rather hear guys battle over a beat with some freestyles.

battle rap is currently a damn amateur hour joke, breh.
the biggest problem with battle rap is the artist don't really have core skills in any facet.
then, the format is some comic view/wild'n out bullshyt.
where, if the beat did come on.
all of them are offkey, lack clarity and don't know how to pocket a rhyme except for serius jones.

all that acapella shyt is a regression, because of the lack of talent.
others will be pc,..
I will not,...
the current shyt is wack as hell.
none of them outside of serius is ready to record any material.
when, back in the day...

when rappers had contest stolen from them like mad skills, and juice.
at least then, the loser was definitely a major label talent.
to the point,...
mad skills and juice commercially created the impact for making a sellout credible to mainstream ears.
or the template for certain records, was later used as the blueprint for the last boom, as well.
as mad skills made the template that became jiggy.
with move ya body, and his later ghosting.
juice resurrected the career and skillset/delivery/technical skill of will smith.

none of these new battle guys are talented like that, and until you develop core skills.
I don't wanna hear or see you trying to battle.
let alone rap, at all.
the shyt they do now, is a fukk'n mockery.
that let's unskilled people think they can do sumfin and they really can not.
plus, it makes them think they don't have to actually work on their skills, at all.
just be a good standup comedian like wild'n out.

shyt is complete bullshyt....
motherfukkers copying the wack shyt from battling like dressing up like sage francis in costumes with gimmicks.
then, when you hear the winner on a break.
they wack as fukk.

fukk that bullshyt way they battle now.
plus, they not even skilled at going off the head, at all.
nor, good on a break.

they are making a mockery and further declining the draw of what emcee'n is about.

Im a budden fan. Naw better yet. Im a budden stan. With that said. HE'LL GET HIS DUMB AS KILLED IN THAT RING. All the ammo these battler rappers have on him??? :whew:

Contrary to what dumb ass fans think. Bars AREN'T everything in battle rap. The amount of clowning that will happen to Joe will be legendary.
