As someone who has lost both their parents, sulking in misery is not a healthy way to cope with a loss. It’s never going to stop hurting, and of course there’s gonna be moments when you bust crying or just fall into depression out of nowhere. I still go through it. But you still have to live life and laughter eases a lot of pain. You still have to exist on Earth, you still have a family that needs you, so you can’t let the heartache over take you to the point you can’t laugh anymore.
After a major loss, first few days I don’t want to live. But then you have to get out of that mindset or you’re gonna go crazy. So you start back in your regular routine or you may never get out of that depression.
