I'm a Burrow fan. And in 6 seasons, he has 3 full seasons, 3 partial seasons.

He missed 6 games in 2020; 7 games in 2023; and he's projected to miss at least 11 games in 2025.

He's injury-prone and as much as anything else, his inability to be consistently available, is lowering this team's ceiling. Granted, he played all 17 last year and they missed the playoffs, but the other two full years he played they went to the Super Bowl, and then the AFC Championship.

I was reluctant to do so but this is now in the territory of, "what have you done for me lately". When he comes back, if he comes back, they gotta make the playoffs, if they are in position to do so. They have to. There is no, well he missed 11 or however many games. If Cincinnati is in position to make the playoffs when he gets back, if they are in the Wild Card hunt, he has to make sure they secure a Wild Card slot.

If they are 5 wins or less when he gets back and playoffs are a long shot, they have to at least finish the season .500 or better in his return, they have to look like they are competitive with him back in the lineup.

Because now its official that he's an injury prone player, and now its official that he can no longer live off of his early career, the Y2 and Y3 deep playoff runs.

I'm a fan but guys are right that he holds the ball and its starting to look like a guy who won't be able to realize his potential because he's injury prone.

Also, look, a lot of money invested in this player, so not an easy decision to make. But how he finishes this season, and how next season goes, he's on the clock as far as, future with the franchise. I'd give it at least until next year, but if it turns out that his best years are behind him, that the best years woth him were 2021 and 2022, its time to make a sea change. Next year will be his seventh in the NFL. Either he is The Guy or he isn't--->and if you aren't consistently available, or if most recently when you are available, we miss the playoffs, if this is the case come next year?

Time to get assets from the highest bidder and reset this shot, in 2026 it'll be 7 years of evidence.

I'm rooting for him to get back and get them in the playoffs this year, to be 100% clear. But I'm also being realistic on what the reality is and what the future with him could look like!

Can't really blame the O-Line for this and they have drafted linemen in the past couple of years.

Trading for Famous Jameis makes sense. Granted it was only preseason but he looked good over the Summer. He actually played more conservatively. He'll likely be the backup but he's a high level backup.

It’s not the line…

They rebuilt the line a few years ago after we beat them in the SB. Brought in 4 new starters, and made some of their previous starters backups. That didn’t work

They brought in an all pro left tackle. That didn’t work

They drafted a tackle in the first round. That didn’t work

They brought in a new starter at left guard. That didn’t work

But then we have this…

So who is REALLY the problem here

Joe needs a coach who can set him straight when he wants to hold hold hold the ball before taking an ugly sack.

I’ve said this throughout the years. He’s the only qb I’ve seen who gets shown grace and empathy for holding onto the ball too long.
