Mike had problems with fighters he couldn't beat b4 they stepped into the ring.

Joe would have been one of those fighters.

This would have been a better fight than most who frow up during the Tyson era realize.

And like many historians has pointed out Joe was Mike b4 Mike was Mike.
Can't see it. Joe doesn't have the size to nullify the power of a prime Tyson. Young Floyd Patterson I think is closer to Tyson than Joe. Post prison Mike is similar to Joe, imo

Tyson lost to every good fighter he faced -- Buster Douglas, Evander Holyfield (twice), & Lennox Lewis -- that man doesn't have a single quality win.

If "Iron" Mike couldn't beat any of those guys, what-in-the-world makes anyone think he could beat 'Smokin' Joe Frazier? You know, THE MAN WHO SLUMPED PRIME ALI.

All of Tyson's KO's came against tomato-cans who wet themselves before the fight -- Joe Frazier was built different, he would have put Tyson in a blender if they fought each other in their primes.

Tyson.

He'd be the father just like he beat the son, by vicious knock out

Frasier in my opinion. I don’t think Tyson had the heart to beat him. Tyson had all the physical tools except the heart when he was matched with someone who he couldn’t intimidate. Holyfield showed that twice, and there’s no way Holyfield should’ve beaten Mike, except that Holyfield had that sturdy Southern heart of a lion. The Mighty South wins again.

That's such a false narrative.

Tyson lost once his mental & drug issues started to derail his career, plus Don King got rid of all of his original circle.

That has nothing to do with heart.

Dude, Tyson beat plenty of top 10 ranked fighters.

He lost once drugs & mental issues started catching up to him.

But '88 Tyson wasn't losing to Douglas, Holyfield, Lous, or anybody else. . . . . .other than Ali

that's all part of it. how you handle success, your mental stability, avoiding drugs, your circle etc. if every athlete lives in ideal situations then the all-time lists would look a lot different but it doesn't work that way. can't go off what Tyson "would've been, if..." we have to go off what he actually was.

Mike would win. For those who said Mike couldn’t beat those who weren’t afraid of him, one thing you gotta remember about every fighter Tyson lost to, they were all bigger than him (and I don’t even really count his losses when he was clearly there for a check). Joe was basically the same size as Mike.

so many boxer's copy his foot work / the shoulder lean/ not wanting to get hit:francis:

Yeah, but we're talking about peak vs. peak.

Peak Mike was focused and had his demons under control. That guy would demolish Joe Frazier.

Guys bringing up Douglas/Holyfield/Lewis when those dudes fought him when he had started to decline already.
