He also was the one to bring his sons to Epic Records where they made more money than when they were on Motown.

Rest in Peace to Joe Jackson. Now like most people I didn't know him personally or anything like that but we all knew 'Joe Jackson' in a way. He was our father or grandfather. He was someone who came from the harshest of climates for Black people. He worked multiple jobs usually in unsafe manual labor jobs. He looked white supremacy in the face not as a concept but literally a white man who was the shift manager or the owner or the opportunities not afforded to him.

Joe was the father of 9 chidren (at least) in his lifetime. He took care of all of them the best I think he knew how. Was he hard on them unncessarily so, perhaps. Was he the best husband, no. But no one is perfect, and he taught the one thing that was so valuable, the value of hard work and while every sibling didn't make the most of it. He made 2 generational talents in Michael and Janet, which is his legacy.

He played guitar in a band with his brother called The Falcons. They had a pretty decent following in the Gary/Chicago area. Because of that, he was plugged in to the Midwest music scene which helped the Jackson Five blow up.
