The ironic thing is we might've never heard about Joe Louis if Jersey Joe's career took off when it should've

I remember reading where Walcott's trainer Jack Blackburn wanted to bring him to some gym or place to train and Walcott fell ill so he couldn't make the trip. Instead Blackburn took another prospect with him.... who turned out to be Joe Louis. The rest is history, with Walcott only getting his career back on track after WW2 while Louis went on to become heavyweight champ

There’s some real limited (and grainy) footage on him in 1946 on YouTube

The closest you’ll get to decent quality though and the whole fight is the 6th LaMotta fight, at 160.
