you cant just fire a good coach because he got some coochie at work. punish him but keep him on the payroll.
I'm still trying to figure out why does everyone think Udoka is this great coach, or that he's the difference between them winning and losing a title?

The Celtics completely shat the bed in the Finals last year under him, and all the bad habits that we've seen in this series were apparent against the Warriors last season. As we saw against the Nets the year before. And as we saw against the Heat the year before that.

This is who this team is.

Unless you think Udoka stumbled upon some magical powers during the summer where he could turn back the time on Horford's career, give Rob new knees, give Smart legit PG abilities and give Tatum and Brown the ability to perform consistently.

Udoka actually knew how to beat Miami's 2-3 zone last year, and he aint even have Brogdon (their 3rd best offensive player this season). Miami shut off Boston water in 4th quarter of game 1 and 2 goin to it. In game 3 Spo just went to it from jump and Mazzulla got no idea how to approach it :russ: nikka cant make adjustments and they defense has much less principles and cohesion this year. They fell off hard in the last quarter of season and playoffs without Udoka instruction. They was also much better at attackin mismatches last year they just a predictable team this year on both ends because of bad coaching.

How could you possibly dumb the argument down to this?

You're completely removing all context of what happens during these respective postseasons.

Never mind the fact that the Celtics lost to inferior talent in the Finals last season under Udoka, and lost to inferior talent in 2018 under Stevens. I don't know how you as a Celtics fan have been watching this group for the last half a decade and still can't see this is their identity. A head coach isn't going to magically change who they innately are, otherwise, we would've seen it under Stevens or Udoka. Ultimately, the bad version of themselves have always reared their ugly heads in the end.

The same issues with this squad we're seeing now were present back in 2018 (even 2017).

You really are a shameless mf :mjlol:

I almost respect you for it.

The Celtics definitely had more talent last season.

I spoke about it at the time.

I even said the Warriors had no right winning last season because of their lack of depth/talent. They only had one big man in the rotation, and he would've struggled to crack the rotation of other playoff squads. Would Looney get minutes over Horford and Rob on the Celtics last year? A lot of folks shared the same view over how limited GS was. Why is this hard for you to comprehend? What's really shameless is you still haven't responded to those about you made about Jokic/Embiid.

You say you "almost respect" me, whereas I could never come close to ever respecting you for all the bullshyt you've pulled.

You were only on that bs because you were a shameless Wiggins hater who showed you up all playoffs for your irational hatred. Couldn't even celebrate his high level playoff performances because of how hard you planted your flag on Wiggins being the Warriors' fatal flaw.

In no way were the Celtics more talented than the Warriors last year, even in terms of depth you're ignoring the contributions the team were getting off the bench from the like's of Payton and Poole. At best it was even but Curry obviously puts the Warriors on a whole another level to the Celtics.

I already admitted at the time, on a number of occasions that Wiggins proved me wrong. I celebrated the fact he did.

Yes, they were.

The difference between the two teams is Steph performed at a high level and Tatum didn't. If Tatum would've shown up, the Celtics would've won comfortably.

How the fukk are you going to bring up Payton as if he hasn't been in the G-League for almost his entire career? That was Poole's first ever postseason run and he only averaged 13 ppg on league-average efficiency.

The Celtics had Jaylen who averaged 23 ppg (more than Tatum), Smart who averaged 15 ppg and co-ran their offense, Horford who averaged 12 ppg and anchored their defense, White who averaged 10 ppg, Rob Will (who was essential to their defense) and Grant Williams. That is a more talented and capable squad than what the Warriors had. Multiple top-level wing scorers, a better and more physically-able frontcourt and more talented role players.

What I really want to know is, why do you think you can call me out on this shyt yet ignore all the times I've quoted you lately about the dumb shyt you posted?

I think Udoka would have made a difference but Udoka can’t make Tatum tougher or make Jaylen Brown less mistake prone. The reality is Boston has two extremely high level number 2 guys leading their team, and neither are mentally tough enough to get it done when it counts. The issue the Celtics have is all their mental toughness lives in guys like Derrick White, Brogdon, Grant Williams, Rob Williams, Horford, Pritchard and especially Smart. But those just aren’t super talented. The Celtics are continually being let down by their stars who can’t rise to the challenge against the most elite competitors.

So they just forgot how to beat a zone this season after they beat it last season?

:usure:

You're being patently ridiculous and it's the reason for why coaching is simultaneously so underrated/overrated on this board. It ain't got shyt to do with them not knowing how to, and more about them not executing when they need to. These players have been in these situations before where everything is essentially second-nature to them. They've been on multiple playoff runs, seen varied defensive schemes, been in countless late-game situations and played against nearly every single type of style of play. None of this is new to them.

They've played the Heat three times in the last four postseasons, so you can get the fukk outta here acting like the players don't know what to do.

They know what to do. But physically carrying it out is another thing, altogether.
Miami shut off Boston water in 4th quarter of game 1 and 2 goin to it. In game 3 Spo just went to it from jump and Mazzulla got no idea how to approach it :russ:
If you actually remembered last season, the Celtics were poor in the clutch - one of the worst teams in the league. Really this has been a theme of theirs for years now, where they've struggled without a floor general to anchor them down the stretch of games.

And here's the funny thing -

They were ranked 26th in the clutch under Udoka last season. They were ranked 8th this season in the clutch under Mazzulla. Go figure.
They fell off hard in the last quarter of season and playoffs without Udoka instruction. They was also much better at attackin mismatches last year they just a predictable team this year on both ends because of bad coaching.
They literally just came off a series where they won attacking mismatches (the majority of Tatum's 51 points in Game 7 came against switches on Embiid).

They finished with the #2 offense and #2 defense this year, so I don't know where you're getting this notion from that they struggled or were predictable. Like every team this season they were inconsistent. No different from the Bucks. No different from the Nuggets. No different from Philly. No different from the Grizzlies. I don't know why you're reducing this down to the fault of the coach.

Would he really have made a difference when we saw how bad they shat the bed in the Finals last season?

Nothing would have changed.

Whatever stage/team they stumbled against would've happened under any coach. The coaching is a red herring. We'd still be having these same conversations if Udoka was coach because it's happened time and time again with this group, regardless of who the coach was. I honestly thought after the 76ers series they had figured something out, and realized their true potential, but more fool me, they fell back into the same old bad habits.

But at the end of the day I bet they wish they didn’t fire him today.
