Don't let these people (like the guy in this thread) who think Conor wasn't impressive in the early rounds fool you, because he was. His length and size was clearly bothering Floyd early on. Floyd as always figured out the McGregor puzzle and knew that he had to be within Conor's range and get into his chest as Conor was not as good fighting off the back foot. He started walking him down when Conor started gassing and began to throw arm punches, and by that time it was only a matter of time before the KO. Couple that with the fact that he had his hands down, he was always going to get KO'd in the latter rounds. Early on though, Conor was fairly impressive and his size was bothering Floyd. He was even throwing some decent combinations from angles.

Eh, I think Floyd was impressed and caught off-guard by Connor's style, length, size, and his unorthodox fighting but I didn't see him being bothered. He barely threw any punches in the first round because he wanted to gauge Connor's power (He was relatively unimpressed) and gameplan but he was relatively unbothered by any of his shots.

Outside of that, they didn't really say anything outlandish

Mayweather made him look good you ding-dong.

He could've came out and picked him apart if he wanted.

You've disappointed me.:scust: You used to be a knowledgable sports fan, and now ur stuck on this McGreggor bs. You think dudes like Pacquiao, Marquez, Canelo aren't better/more powerful punchers than Connor McGregor?

Floyd let dude hang around by letting him hit him with them lil soft ass taps he was throwing, and when it was time, he put him away nicely. And the ref already had it planned out to stop it immediately to save Connors image of not being face down on the canvas.

:russ: @ the people saying this sh!t.

“I expected a lot less from McGregor, and I expected a little bit more from Floyd Mayweather,” Ward said.

Following the fight, the 40-year-old Mayweather reconfirmed his intention to retire, and Ward says it’s the correct decision to make.

“I think Floyd showed his age a little bit. He’s still got a lot left in the tank, but when you start seeing yourself getting hit with punches you typically won’t get hit with — especially against a guy with no experience — and you’re not offensively getting off and throwing like you should be, it’s time to hang it up.

“It’s not that you don’t have it, but you want to leave before you don’t have it anymore.”

As for the actual contest, Ward says he was puzzled by Mayweather’s willingness to give his back and wait for the referee to break up the contest instead of actually defending himself.

“I didn’t understand Floyd giving McGregor his back. That’s something that personally, I don’t do, and we are taught not to do,” he said. “You’ve got to protect yourself at all times. If for some reason, McGregor lost his cool and hit Floyd with a meaningful punch behind the head, Floyd can be really really hurt. So I don’t understand that. I think McGregor showed a lot of restraint even those we saw a few hammer punches. We’ll take that from a guy doing this pretty much all his life.”

here is a PRO who's speaking about the truth, not some internet wannabee Boxing Pundits

look's like a decent jab, decent finding angles. u guys hatin because of his color, that's it :stopitslime:

You must not know boxing or never seen maywewther ever fight.
Money may basically played a sparring coach with MacGregor to keep him active and busy by simple activity to get him gassed and Connor and noobs are to inexperienced to realize this.
Connor basically was given every angle and boxing drill like he was a boxing novice student against mayweather.
Mayweather just executed from a quality product and promoter standpoint to make cacgregror look somewhat astute and credible for noob eye and novice boxing fans. To an experienced eye, money may basically created a drill sparring session to setup Connor and eventually show him trainer vs novice drill gone wrong or in a real match setting and far from a sparring session.

Conor went into the ring outweighing Floyd by 25-30 pounds and in these first 3 rounds where Conor "looked good" he didn't connect with anything that hurt Floyd.

Mayweather walked him down all night.
This is "impressive"? Floyd's entire strategy (according to him) was to let Conor punch himself by out and dominate later. And that's exactly what happened.

Every boxing expert on earth said that if Conor was in the ring against any other welterweight/middleweight (who wasn't 40 years old) he would have been dropped early and easily.

Let's be real about how "impressive" Conor was.
Those pitty pat love taps in the 1st three rounds weren't all that.

That uppercut made him more cautious and he then went back to the gameplan of waiting for him to get tired and then he walked him down. He won rnd 8 imo, and others. My point was u have champion boxers saying he impressed em and u have the typical hatin azz Coli n1gga sayin blah blah blah. Who do I believe. Im gonna believe Terrence Crawford and Ray Leonard over u n1ggaz :beli:

And at distance, he was better than Mayweather expected.

Connor has no chance at all fight
