im no fan of his show but it could cause other major podcasters to pull their content from the competition. i am a premium spotify user so this is all theoretically good for me but i do feel sorry for the rest if that happens. they recently improved the search function for podcasts (used to be really confusing since it seemed like podcast content was in a separate index from music) so in hindsight, they were gearing up for a podcast push for months.

i think the problem is awareness. there must be thousands of podcasts out there nobody knows about and are not in any position to get any promotion, then you have this handful of podcast networks that market them out to everybody. very feast or famine
