I just listened to the first 6 tracks and hated everyone of them. I'm not feeling the direction he's going at all. I can't deal with this type of production

My sentiments EXACTLY. This nikka focusing too hard on trying to be some kind of sex symbol and jacking that double-time flow over soft ass Drake-esque production, and not enough on his lyrical ability, HIT making ability and what's gonna get him to connect to a broader audience to sell, besides some Love & Hip-Hop shyt and female drama. Joey out here lookin like a real bytch right now...

And every hit doesn't need to be R & B themed...I'm of the school of thought that out of a 15+ track album, no more than 4 or 5 TOPS need to be slow, or female-friendly joints. Softens his product, and I deleted this shyt without remorse. I'm a Joey fan so I'm disappointed. Loose Quarter would've made a better commercial album.

It's got it's flaws, and sometimes is glaringly commercial, shamelessly commercial is a better work, but, this is the album he wanted to make for whatever reason, his current feelings, felt like doing something he never did as well before, this doesn't have the standouts of his debut, but overall is more listenable. Some of the better, introspective tracks have kind of spotty/uninspired production, they lack the dramatic quality of tracks like 'Momma Said' and 'Off 2 To The Races', and the lyrics carry the production, instead of complimenting each other, but it's a decent effort. He'll hit us with some mix tape material soon, would be my feeling. It's NOT a great album, it's a 3/5, imo, but it's nothing unlistenable, or garbage either.

not fukkin with this on first listen, and i'll always got to bat for joey. then again...it's kind of an obvious attempt at the type of album/music that i really don't listen to, which seems like it was his aim.

it's kinda one of those things where you don't personally like something, but see the merit in it for the audience it was aimed at.

how is Loose Quarter a better commercial album if it can't in any way expand his fan base.

There is not one song in there that can be consumed nationally.

This album just brings to light what's been known since the mood musik run. Joey can not make hit records.

I feel the same exact way. I couldn't get into a loose quarter at all and this album is just horrible. Even the songs that seem to be catered to the mood muzik fans aren't good. The worst part is the blatant selling out attempt, it's like he's trying to be Drake. I have no problem with an artist trying to make a hit but be yourself don't bite someone else's style. I've lost respect for Joe and he's been one of my favorite artist the last several years. I guess my Budden collection stops at Mood Muzik 4
