I'm not comparing Embiid and Gobert.

But the argument Shaq made against Gobert was that he didn't live up to the contract because Gobert wasn't the driving force on a championship team.
The same would seem to apply to Embiid.

There was tension between the two, but Philly essentially picked Harris over Butler when trading him and then offering Harris the extension right after hence the “Tobias Harris over me” comments.

Yupp. And I do remember it was Embiid who was very vocal that he wanted Jimmy to come back. But on the other hand Ben Simmons was on some about Jimmy coming back. At the time Ben still had the Sixers organization by the balls and forced their hand. IMO, if Ben wanted Jimmy on the team, Jimmy would still be a Sixer
