I rate this album up there with albums like Illmatic, Capital Punishment, Only built for Cuban LinX, The Chronic, Doggystyle. Real hip hop heads, what ya think?

Do any of ya actually rate capital punishment as a classic? If not,:pacspit:

But if I'm the only one that feels this way, I take the lost on this thread. :birdman:

It's an amazing album, but classic, nah. 125 Pt. 2 is my shyt. BQE, Brooklyn, Hip Hop, Brooklyn Bullshyt...extremely underrated album.

I hesitate to put it up there with Illmatic, RD, RTD or OBFCL, but it's definitely a classic in my book.

Has the word classic lost ALL meaning!? I like Joell as an MC, I really do but that album (as good as it is) is not a classic. Wtf do you guys smoke these days?

Name some of ur taste in classic albums.
The usuals like Paid In Full, Illmatic, AmeriKKKas Most Wanted, etc

but as far as newer type stuff (post 2000 ish) I'd have albums like Below The Heavens, Section 80, Supreme Clientele, KOD, Operation Doomsday, The Fix etc

Just because an album is super dope doesn't mean it's a classic

I didn't like it at all to be honest, and I thought Ortiz was extremely mediocre at the time.

He's improved significantly since then though.

Can't agree with u at all. If anything, I feel he is extremely mediocre now more than ever.

As much as I like it, I could NEVER put it anywhere near the joints you named. It's dope but calling it a classic is a reach.
