Is that not a Smoke DZA/Pete Rock/Westside Gunn album in your avi :mjlol:

Change that shyt nikka :umad:

It's a dope cover :yeshrug:.....and I like smoke dza. But he's not a great lyricist either. Just like joey. They're all B-C level to me. New York really has nobody I would call elite at this point. It's just a fact.

At the same time I don't consider anybody on the west elite except for Kendrick either. But I can be honest about that. Y'all really hyping up these joey tracks like they're profound but refuse to drop any crazy bars. Kendrick is in a league of his own. And nothing joey has dropped in this battle has been enough to get Kendrick in the ring. Joey is a good rapper and nothing more.

Yeah this ain’t the end of this. Other regions will get involved somehow someway.
This is what I'm waiting on. Honestly, outside of JID/Dreamville, I don't know what other jits we have to step on behalf of the South. Either way, long live REGIONALISM.

Imagine a nikka spittin' over "Knuck if you Buck, " or a " Down for My N*ggas," or a "Tear the Club Up" flip-- :wow:

Imagine the Blog Era O.G.s--shyt doesn't even feel right referring to fellow millenals as OGs--coaching behind the scenes.-- :ohlawd:

Imagine the renaisaince of Coli/Hip Hop forum fukkery that might ensue. The strife, the divison, the chaos. -- :damn:

I can dream dam it. --:mjcry:

Troy Ave and Kendrick caught the most potent bars on this, the rebuttal that Kendrick was at the same Diddy parties as him was decent.

It’s a respectable response but far from a kill shot, frankly I doubt Ray responds to this track as it’s pretty clear that Joey isn’t going to match the venom.

It’s interesting to read the replies in here though, a lot of takes in here that come off very scorned for whichever side they’re taking up for lol.

Keeping it a buck Finals 100% cleared Hoe Era but GoldenEye was the best reply in the exchange and the most potent diss.

Smoke DZA is nowhere near Joey my guy lol

I used to listen to bro back in the day he makes wavy music but his pen was always ehhh

Badass is one of the few elite rappers especially in his age range straight up one of the few still doing it. He was one of the most advanced teen rappers to come into hip hop

The Diddy party shyt just screams desperation Hail Mary and I believe it’s also the shortest diss. Just shows he rushed to put that out after Joey blew the doors down with My Town.

As for Joey matching the venom how could he? Ray Vaughn isn’t in the public eye he’s a complete unknown.

There is no venom to tap in to and even then dude still got sonned all battle while he was going for the most shock value and disrespect.

I hear Top there instead of Dot, which is why he went into the promotion angle afterwards.

West Coast disses are always “gloves off” once it’s full blown dissing, that’s just part of the rap culture here. Nothing is off the table in a diss reply and especially if you disrespect their family, crew or set. It’s not looked at like shock value or desperate, it’s just escalation.

But they spent all year last year defending Dot against Drake talking about Drake went out of bounds by saying Whitney’s name and how Drake and Kendrick had a conversation about battle rules prior n all kinda garbage. Make this shyt make sense here. It’s the same shyt with Jay vs Nas. Jay went super personal and Nas cleared him without all that shyt.

So Kendrick the exception?

He waited to back that out once his back was against the wall lol.

He didn’t start with the Diddy angle if that’s what you mean but he did mention his fiance and clown Pro Era in Hoe Era. Ray’s disses were all subs prior to Joey’s Red Bull response (which was not a sub) so it escalated.

But they spent all year last year defending Dot against Drake talking about Drake went out of bounds by saying Whitney’s name and how Drake and Kendrick had a conversation about battle rules prior n all kinda garbage. I agree that Drake wasn’t committing a cardinal sin for bringing up the fiance and etc the way some folks were acting like, however he also escalated it far beyond the energy where Like That was going so ultimately he got what he asked for.

So Kendrick the exception?

Kendrick’s disses on Like That were subs w/ the exception of the big 3 line. Drake started the full-blown dissing in the battle and escalated it into personal shyt so again he got what he asked for.
