I like both, but I just find it funny how regardless of the rapper, you'll get called a gimmick.

I've already heard the industry plant label put on him.

I can see him doing better than Saigon cuz Sai is a conscious rapper. Most people don't wanna hear that shyt. Joey just raps about whatever. He can make a hit, Sai is not a hit maker.

How could he be a gimmick if he's bringing that old 90s New York Hip-Hop sound that everyone has strayed away from and forgotten. If anything, he took a bold risk by doing that. I look forward to more of his material.

I really thought Joey Badass dude was a bootleg machine gun kelly white boy rapper, this is the first time ive seen a video or heard a song by dude. Gimmick or not, he bringing that real hip hop sound and feel back. it's a beautiful thing to witness

I wouldn't count him out just yet, radio play isn't really as important as it used to be shyt mad nikkas in my age group (I'm 17) know about Kendrick Llamar, get him behind some good production like the Survival Tactics track and he could gain some followers, off the strength of tracks posted in here, I'm already a fan.
