Then it should be easy to critique the music without resorting to bashing it based on sales (which dont mean shyt in the streaming era) or thecoli.com thread page count

This fake ass Neptunes beat :laff:

Such a weird choice, reminds me of early 00s releases that couldn't afford a Neptunes beat but wanted to sound modern and relevant. This is 20 years later.

Joey is a great rapper but he doesn't have enough direction. I can hear a Griselda influence on a lot of the album, but I think Joey wants his music to be smooth and accessible, so it ends up sounding like hes rapping on lo-fi study beats. Some songs sound like hes really doing whole impressions of other rappers flowwise, subject matter, production.

I mean its not bad music, but I think hes limiting his success by trying to be mainstream, ironically. It feels dated.

Highroller gets on my nerves.

Sing had so much potential.

A good beat that was mixed badly, bad hook, and a terrible guest verse from Ferg.

It’s something that Joey lacks for me :yeshrug: His image feels manufactured. He talks like he’s that dude in hip hop but I’ve always got cornball vibes from son.
Dude is basically the Cordae of New York raps. He tries hard to get that old Bed Study yawker Brooklyn style back but fumbles with execution.

It doesn't help that the best thing to ever come out of him and his crew no longer with us "RIP Steez"
