Only other ref I know is dikk Bavetta because of that time him and Chuck raced at the ASG.

What they are going to pull swords and shields out if you don't hit somebody with a tech? Almost every fight in the NBA happens spur of the moment, so regardless, if a dude is going to swing on a guy it's going to happen in a second flat, and no previous foul is going to stop it because it's usually just tempers blowing up so it's basically uncontrollable. It's just refs trying to make it about them period, they do it all over in every sport minor/major league/beer league whatever. The only sport where a ref legit just REFS is boxing and football imo.
