I was just gettin into bball at that time 96-99 i remember vividly duke use to be trash they was like the Notre dame of college ball they had great prestige of early 90s den around 96-00 those teams only had nba pros like brand,battier,maggetette & langdon was the best shooter in dukes history til 02 whenn jj came on campus. I use to think only rich kids nerds go to duke it was mind blowing to everybody when Shawn dockery was goin there his game n background wasnt meant for duke or coach k how da hell are u the best pg in the city from 98-02 end up at duke knowing how the type of players coach was recruiting at dat time dats like bassy or Shaun Livingston goin to duke 2 yrs later. This is the truth. NBA Scouts can track players and now go to any school or location to analyze them and aren’t just going to the same 8-10 schools they visited heavily during the 90s.
Interesting to see what happens with coaches like him if they start allowing kids to forgo the rule for one year out of High School entirely

Alot of those type players from the city n state will start staying home i see wat depaul is doin my childhood homie tim anderson is bout to start a trend of all city kids staying home a new arena plus upgraded facilities why would go to Kentucky kansas ucla? U would only go there based on the prestige n free gear ie oregon unc. We might see nyc basketball back in spotlight if those kids stay in nyc n other big east schools
