According to Dave, he'll still make one-off appearances, but he no longer has a WWE contract.

:mjcry:
thank you CeGOAT

He'll get the Legends deal obviously
the mega superstar ala Austin, Rock, Macho Man etc dies with Cena now.

Part of what made his name so strong was his divisiveness with the fans and how he played into it, and we got classic matches with that element.
Vince trying hard to replicate that shyt with Roman reigns and none of us are having it

I have never seen a former top top guy phased out like Cena was..weird.

He's weirdly underappreciated. It all started when they pushed him to the moon as "The Marine" character and people turned on him.

He was criticized for not being Austin or Rock but he's the closest there has been since..

People were starting to come around to him again but his movie career is actually doing well. I think he'll get a huge pop when he shows back up to do a program down the road with someone

Not true apparently, the story is based on a Reddit post. This is what Dave said on the Observer board about the story

:heh:

Someone on Reddit just made this up, it's not in the Observer at all. And Dave will be blamed as usual :mjlol:

Lol that happens damn near all the time. False stories and people taking stuff him and Bryan speculate on as official is something that's happened for year.

He's only the closest thing cause they refused to push anybody else. Actually cm punk was closer. They shoved him down our throats nonstop (:dame:) for years at the expense of the rest of the roster. He gave the same tired underdog promo every week even though he was never the underdog. They jobbed everybody out to him. He wasn't underappreciated at all.

People only started to come around because the roster was shyt.

Dean Ambrose or John Cena:francis: it's not a tough decision at all.
