Hey a$$hole

Trading the best player on the team when he's 23 is not playing chess

I still can't believe this happened

I'm really fukking upset

Best player on a 35 win team. Big fukking deal.

He's 23, but do you honestly think Jrue's gonna be a superstar one day? I highly doubt it.

It's about fukking time we blew this mediocre roster up. Hinkie's just the first GM with the stones to do it.

I don't think anyone's untouchable, but I'm just not thrilled with the return. I think NO will be decent next year, so it's not gonna be a really high pick. Plus Noel has a lot of question marks. Aside from Jrue's age & talent he is locked up at a good price too.

The most important thing from this trade isn't Noel; it's blowing the team up.

The Sixers have spent the last 6-7 years trying to build a contender through mid-1st round picks. They've actually drafted pretty well, but it hasn't worked because it's tough finding franchise players in the teens. The only way this team's getting a franchise player is from the top of the draft, and that means tanking. Jrue is a nice player that made an All-Star game, but a) he's not a superstar (and will never be one) and b) he's a point guard, which is the most talent-rich position in the NBA. There's still 6-7 point guards better than him today, maybe more.

The high pick is going to be the Sixers own pick; I'm not super-concerned over how high NO's pick is gonna be.

I don't know man. I understand the difficulty of being stuck in NBA purgatory, but they would've been one of the worst teams without trading Jrue. Tarde Turner, play the young guys big minutes & you're a better team long term without giving up a guy you can build around. If they get the #1 pick I won't complain though.

This is like that Iggy trade for me, bittersweet as fukk, I'm glad for the trade but sad to see my nikka Jrue go but I guess this is for the greater good of the team :wow: I'll get over it but it's gonna take a while

This move had to be done. I hated it at first as well, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. It was time to blow it up and Jrue was a casualty of that, which is a shame. I'd rather start over with a couple of years of terrible teams and add a couple top 5 picks than try to build around a very good player with top 15 picks and a limited FA pool.
Plus, its easier to find a quality guard than a quality big. Jrue is replacable to an extent, we can find someone to give us production somewhat close to what he gave us. Can't say the same about a center. If Noel pans out, as I think he absolutely will, he will be a much more valuable talent due to the lack of ability at his position. I'll take an above average PG (hopefully MWC) and a great big over a borderline All-Star PG any time. Even if MWC doesn't pan out, we have the flexibility to find a suitable PG via either the draft or FA. .

we'll find out how good this trade is 11 months from now.

jrue may have been the best player on the team last year, but they were the worst team in the division and deeply entrenched in nba hell.

the sixers going for wiggins, parker & them.
