When Gotti was sent to the maximum-security federal prison in Marion, Ill., to serve his life sentence, he paid large sums of money to the Aryan Brotherhood to watch his back, authorities have said.
After Gotti was attacked in the exercise yard by convicted bank robber Walter Johnson, the mob boss reportedly offered the Brotherhood a contract to kill his assailant.
Johnson escaped death for the Gotti beatdown, but Pizzolo wasn't so lucky. Cops say he was gunned down in Brooklyn in 2004 on orders of Bonanno crime boss Vincent (Vinny Gorgeous) Basciano, who is awaiting trial for Pizzolo's rubout.
