Directors would get an upfront fee for direction, and a share of the revenue from DVD, which is now almost non existent. His biggest hits were 30 years ago, but also, how much money did he want or need? Also studios take a chance with a movie being successful or not. Just because it ended up grossing whatever, doesn't mean that was a foregone conclusion.

There are people in Hollywood with less. Hollywood is not the same for everyone. Everyone in Hollywood is not swimming in money. Singleton was never in "the BIG LEAGUE".
The average person is not leaving 6 mill. for his kids.
They are probably trying to garner interest in the items by putting the word out.
I wonder what kind of contracts John was signing when he was alive for directing and producing? His films have grossed a good number and he had a hit tv show with Snowfall.
Dam didn’t know all this. I see now why the estate number appears low for someone with his accomplishments

These aren't blockbusters and most of them are from the 90's. Directors don't get paid nearly what actors get, he wasn't making big budget movies, and he wasn't getting consistent work.
6 million sounds great for what he accomplished.

Which movies you feel that way for? He wasnt directing your summer blockbusters and just because baby boy stays on loop on BET doesnt mean it was a billion dollar box office. He left his kids a legacy, god bless him. How many people can leave their kids millions
