He really did all of his best work before 2000.

My top 5 from him is:
  1. A Better Tomorrow
  2. The Killer
  3. Face-Off
  4. Bullet in the Head
  5. Hard Boiled
Man, HK cinema and TV really fell off after the 2000s. So many gems from that era. We'll never get that kind of creativity and risk taking from HK ever again.

2 reasons, why it fell off IMO.

A) Hollywood came calling and all the good technical guys moved over from the East to the West
B) China got HK back in 1997, so whatever artistic freedom they had prior to that, seems to of been lost between that and people leaving for work.

Let's see if he gets away with "the church shootout" scene this day in age.

Although I expect it to be fire, I don't think they needed to remake a classic to get people interested in a John Woo movie with Lupita as the lead.

I'd trust it more if it was a younger director that was a big fan of The Killer.

:patrice:

I cant picture anyone else besides chow yun fat in that role, sounds wack :martin: also sounds like hes on his bullshyt again from the early 2000s when his movies were trash

Mission Impossible 2 was dope
